Wassup Zeroes. I'm switching over to "Weekly Recaps" instead of game recaps. The initial one drops today, and then will drop on every Sunday in the future. Since these are weekly, I'll be making a new thread for each one, where you can talk about the specific things I point out in each video. In this video, I'm talking about and showcasing proper offensive positioning in order to take advantage of a defense trapping the pick n roll. Let me know what you think. Part One: Part Two:
I love your breakdown at 3:10 to 3:40ish. Also at 4 minute you're exactly right. I've always kind of wondered how the Blazers don't get more attacks at the basket from the trap, they literally trap 30 feet away from the basket., there are lanes there. Great video man.
Haha. With the other videos I do I couldn't even keep up with game recaps. These should be more unique (less rehashed talking points) and more quality editing.
Thanks! This will definitely be something I focus a lot of film study on. I'll probably be able to compare positive clips and negative clips at some point in regards to us getting trapped.
While you're studying this can you take a look at Dame's feet? I know that sounds weird. I have a theory that part of the problem the Blazers have with the trap is that a lot of the time when a team traps, Dame's natural response seems to be to retreat and get on his heels, rather than on his toes which make it almost impossible for him to attack the trap, either by splitting it or trying to turn the corner. Don't take that as a knock on him, it's just something I've observed, and I'm interested if it's as bad as I think it is, or if he's done that a few times and it's exaggerated in my head.
