There’s a podcast I recently discovered called Behing the Bastards. They profiled Manafort and as bad as I though he was, he’s way way worse. They methodically go through his history, the history of Black Manafort and Stone lobbying agency and that they specifically targeted working for many dictators, warloards and in some cases specifically encouraged them to kill hundreds of people. They encouraged civil wars and not just encouraged but made efforts to help them happen resulting in deaths of thousands. One of his daughters had her phone text messages hacked releasing over 200,0oo texts including ones where she talks about how her father is responsible for the deaths of hundreds and many concerning how he forced his wife to get drunk to where she couldn’t stand and then get gang bamged by many men. All that is just scratching the surface.
"Dark state" events. After working so long on the side of U.S. foreign policy, he must have later crossed a couple of important people in the State Dept., since they're not protecting him in this case.
He not only crossed them, but likely stole tens of millions of dollars twice, once from Ferdinand Marcos (10m) a Putin backed Oleg Deripaska. I’m sure he’s crossed many others too.
