I made a thread in this board before the season saying that this was his year to show what he had. I have not watched the Mavericks that much, so what do you think?

I still give him a hard time about it, but I think he has improved his jumper some. It's just hard for me to like him taking that shot when I'd rather have almost anyone else take it.One thing he improved monumentally on was defense. I think he is probably one of the best defenders on the Mavs. He did a really good job against Davis when he was in during that series, but I think he got called for a lot of ticky-tack fouls. He is undoubtedly the best charge-taker on the Mavs.A couple things I think he needs to improve on still: consistency... he is one of the quickest players to the rim in the league. I mean really, we could run a pick and roll all day if we had the right guys. He can do it himself, for that matter. He is much like Barbosa, just not as consistent and dependable all-around like Barbosa is. And that's fine, he's his own man, not Barbosa. Still, I would like to see him improve. He needs to learn how to take fouls as well. It is pretty clear that falling down after you catch something under the rim doesn't work. I don't know if he needs to run into guys or what, but he needs to pick up those fouls. Also, we need to hire somebody at the AAC who will hold a pillow under him when he decides to run through for a layup and fall into the backstop.

My only issue is it seems that's the only way he can finishes layups for that matter. He tends to miss gimmes. Also, I believe Avery needs to give some more pt for Harris. He still has that give and pull, just not as bad as it was the first 2 years. But it's ridiculous to see 25 minutes for Harris when he's not in foul trouble.Shooting has to be consistent for him, opens up the lane. He can be his counterpart in Tony Parker.

I saw that as recently as the Golden State series, and it happens VERY frequently. There are a bunch of problems with this... he risks injury, usually misses the shot as you said, and he's not able to follow his man down the court. I'm not saying he can't take fouls, I'm just sick of seeing that particular foul not getting called. I don't know if he needs to just barrel into somebody, move laterally, or what, but I'm sick of him laying on the floor without a foul call.

I think one way he could prevent risky landings is finishing smarter. A lot of his drives are basic, with him driving towards the rim and trying to finish. He doesn't have any stop and pop or floaters.
