KSFY) - Thousands of people have signed an online petition to merge North Dakota and South Dakota into a new state called "MegaKota."

Dillan Stewart started the petition to President Donald Trump because he thought it would "be pretty cool to have a state called MegaKota so yeah."

More than 3,000 people have signed the petition since Sunday.

"I dream of a unified dakota," Andrew Toland posted after signing the petition.

"Alone they are weak but megakota shall ride from their remains and become the greatest state," Griffin Hoeschele posted.

"This is the dumbest petition I've ever seen. So obviously I'm signing. Also, what frat boy named this?" Bethany Stender posted.

"It just makes sense to do this. Also, MegaKota is a pretty rad state name," Isaiah Croatt posted.

Should we all have "mega" avatars? Would you be MegaDog, or MegaPokerDog? On second thought, I don't think I'm in favor of being PtldMegaPus, so let's scratch that...
 
We should merge Alaska and Hawaii - they are right next to each other. Who is with me for the unified state of Hawaka?

Just underscores the need for a wall between North Dakota and South Dakota. I don't care if it's concrete or steel slats.

See, that's why the Dakotas are so far ahead of any other state in the US. They thought of this eons ago and knew it would be a tourist attraction.

It wouldn't change a thing. But You would lose four electoral votes and Four liberal Senators, so some good would be done.
 
Megaco and I'm for building a giant wall from Canada to Mexico along it's eastern border.
