If you want the background story, go to the Lakers team board. I believe it is blown out of proportion, but, why don't I make a trade thread anyway? Where could Kobe go?I would love to see Dallas go for Kobe, with a package of Josh Howard, Devin Harris, and a pick or two, but I don't see that happening. Not to a Western conference foe.It would be interesting to see who is the most interested in Kobe. Obviously, Kobe would want to go to a contender, and the Lakers would want that team to be in the East.Chicago? Ben Gordon, Andres Nocioni, and pick 9 in this draft? I'm out of ideas.

Miami for Dwade. Shaq and Kobe could be together again. I'm just kidding that would never happen.I think they would have to trade him to a Western team, since the real contenders in the East either don't need him(Miami, Cleveland), or wouldn't want him(detroit). The Suns may be a possibility. Raja Bell, Barbosa, the Hawks pick, and Shawn Marion for Kobe. I don't know if that works under the cap or not, there may be another team needed.

You did this with the WNBA board as well. This thread is redundant, it's too early to speculate and I'm pretty sure it won't resolve with Kobe not in a Laker jersey.

Not going to happen because of the reason SunnyD said, but:Amare, Barbosa, both our picks this year and the Atlanta one next year. Throw in James Jones too and get a worse player in return. Then make some other moves to improve the front court and that would be nice. Two top 5-top 6 players and Marion.

It definitely won't work with Marions disgusting 16 mil. a year contract for the next two years.

I think that the real reason he wants this trade? because in his contract it has that if he gets traded he gets an extra three million dollars per year or so.

I dont see leaving the Lakers unless they dont do something to help the Lakers and they decide to further deepen their rebuilding. If they let Kobe go it will be the worst move any NBA have made since the Lakers trading shaq(Which was really bad as it was) The lakers are making the playoffs but this team really has dropped. I'm not even a Laker fan but Kobe and Shaq were an amazing duo. Shaq and Dwade really isnt all its hyped up to be anymore. They've won their title so that will give them something for their legacy but they arent on the level of Kobe and Shaq were. Letting go of Kobe will set back the lakers even further then where the celtics are right now. Let's hope the lakers actually get some talent this offseason. They are due for a big move(which they've been accustom for)

Yeah, LAZY is right. Aside from Howard and Harris being nearly untradeable, there are not enough white bitches in Dallas for Kobe to rape. He would want a trade in mere weeks.

Anyone want to make a bet that Kobe stays in LA wearing Gold and Purple?IMO he isnt going to get traded I think he is jstu testing the organization. If you think of it really whatever team gives Kobe they either have to 1) Give them young players and usually a team with young players and good lottery picks are the team that suck and Kobe would lose there 2) If he goes to a winning oprganization they will have to give up the players they need to win there fore Kobe isnt going to succeed much. Its impossible to trade a player of Kobe's value

In the Last 10 years, players of equal value have been traded(Scottie Pippen after the bulls won the 98 title,Shaq 1 year after the Lakers clinched their third title and went to the finals),AI(After leading the league in scoring for 3 seasons), etc. It's always possible just not always logical.

Ike Diogu has all the potentia and could be a starter on most teams, it just so happens that he plays the same posistion as perhaps the best power forward in the east. But then again, when all you have to be excited about is David Lee and Rolando Balkman, I can see why you might be jealous.

Trading Kobe Bryant would be the worst move for marketing any team has ever made in the history of sports. If he ever were traded, which I believe is highly highly unlikely, they would send him as far over on the East coast as they possibly could. He would be traded to the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
