It was Barkley and the said it during halftime of the game they just played against OKC. Double overtime.
Funny when i read this kind of stuff. Stotts for the Blazers has actually hovered around .600 not 500 His first year they missed the playoffs understandably. .402 with 33 wins then he catapulted to 54 wins and has not had a losing season since although they did have a 41-41 season the year after LaMarcus left. .659 .622 .537 .500 .598 and last year .591. This year on pace for over .570 Saying Stotts has been a .500 coach would be correct if you added his first and second jobs in Atlanta and Milwaukie only. As far as the Blazers go he is .556 which is much better than the 500 offered. https://www.basketball-reference.com/coaches/stottte99c.html
Thanks to Dame. Not Stotts. If it wasn't for Dame, this team would routinely be picking in the top 5 or 7 at the Draft.
Um you said "Saying Stotts has been a .500 coach would be correct if you added his first and second jobs in Atlanta and Milwaukie only." @TBpup did say his whole career.
His stops in Milwaukee and Atlanta were with horrible teams as shown by the records at both clubs before he got there and after he got there. It's really not relevant to what he has done in Portland.
No shit? Pretty plain to read that he did say his whole career and then you went on about his career in Portland and then said "if" you added his career, which he did.
I'd say it's an individual sport play by a team. There is no more team sport where one single player is more important except maybe a quarterback in football.
lol. your responses crack me up. Maybe you would be better off letting things slide rather than making a snarky response.
You don't think that I know what happened in his other coaching jobs? This has nothing to do with me or what I think of Stotts.
I don't keep track of every posters opinions in the forum. Probably another reason some of your responses aren't warranted and should just let it go.
I can't believe that two of my favorite people are in this intense feud. So very disappointing. Come on you two, knock it off. I'll even buy the beer. Iron Man, yours will be something from the Iron Horse Brewery. Hoops Jock, yours will be something from the Hoops Brewery. Mine will be either a Guiness stout or a Tsing Tao or a Kirin or a Birra Moretti. I'm on a medically fluids restriction so I can only have one or maybe two if I through caution to the wind.
I would think a better time to discuss firing the coach is not when the team has won four in a row, beating Houston, and coming within a whisker of beating Denver, the top team in the West. Surely you expect us to go on a losing streak sometime soon and maybe it would be more appropriate to call for such action at that time. It just seems like bad timing.
