Could this team improve anymore? The team with the best record in baseball? Getting the player with the best swing in baseball, still today?Star-Ledger - Several baseball executives expect those old Ken Griffey Jr.-to-the-White Sox trade talks to pick up again this summer as the Reds continues to sink in the standings. But a few believe it could actually be the Red Sox who end up making a play for the future Hall of Fame center fielder. http://www.realgmbaseball.com/src_wiretap_..._pick_up_again/
Too bad Griffey got hit with a big time injury bug. We wouldn't have to worry about all this Bonds drama, cause Griffey would've smashed the 755 record and it would actually be a great thing to watch. Unlike watching Bonds break it.One of the few NATURALS that have came through the baseball world.
It'd be a huge mistake. Why make any trades and F*ck with team chemistry when you've got a 15 game lead on the Yankees.

I hate all this talk to improve the Red Sox. The Boston media is still doing it too. Why not let's stick with what is working? We are the best team in baseball with the lineup we have had all year long. Coco Crisp, although is not hitting, has been putting on a show out in centerfield devensively. Why get rid of him to bring in Griffey who isn't nearly as quick as him and could be an injury liability.
I think what people want to do is bring in Griffey Jr to replace Drew or something. Drew is overrated and I can't believe we picked him up honestly. At least Griffey gives an effort out in the field. When I went to the Sox game against the Indians when Beckett was pitching a ball was hit to Drew and he let it roll past his glove. Nixon would of never let that happen, even if he was hurting a bit. He would of slid to get the ball and stopped the runs from coming in, while Drew allowed a 2-run scoring triple.
I agree Drew is overrated. I still don't think you should mess with this lineup. Drew is incredibly overpaid but I really think he will pick it up offensively at some point if he can stay healthy. People forget baseball is the long haul sport. Drew will no way match what Trot did out in right field but he can do some damage with his bat. When he gets out of this slump people will see that. Atleast, that's what I hope.
