Between the 88/89 season through the 91/92 season KJ averaged 21.2 ppg, 11.1 apg, 1.7 spg on 50% shooting from the floor.</div>True, although I would still have KJ as a top 10 PG of all time.

Imagine that. Kidd would of never got traded possibly there for alot of things that have transpired over the years would of never occured if KJ could of played out his whole career.
Re: Players' careers that have been tainted by injuries. Penny and Grant Hill are the big ones of the last 15 years. They were going to be two of the biggest NBA stars for years to come before the injuries. Hill probably would have been top 15 all-time if he had played all the time.Bobby Hurley never had the chance to be great. Barkley had a few too many injuries and probably would have had an even bigger impact without them (although he is still regarded as one of the greats, and rightly so!)
Re: Players' careers that have been tainted by injuries. watching a McDeyse video made me think of thisLarry Johson. before the back problems 'grandma-ma' could play with power and sky.the shell of his former self playing for the Knicks was pitiful to watch.if you don't recall the charlotte years of LJ's career.. youtube is your friend

Re: Players' careers that have been tainted by injuries. I saw a few people metion Shawn Kemp and Len Bias. Bias od'd on cocaine before he even step foot on an NBA floor. That wasn't an injury, that was a fatally bad decision by choosing to do cocaine at a party. And as for Kemp, he was just a flat out cokehead who chose drugs over the NBA. The guy turned himself into great shape in recent years while still using drugs. Those weren't injuries..A name I haven't seen was Raef LaFrentz. This guy could have been one of the most dominant big men in the game if it wasn't for injuries. He had a few good seasons but reached nowhere near his potential. He had great defensive instincts, a low post game, and could shoot outside. He could have been an incredible player in this league. Another name I haven't seen was Allan Houston. He was an amazing shooting guard with the Knicks for a few years then caught the injury bug after signing a max deal.
Re: Players' careers that have been tainted by injuries. Bill Walton more than anyone else. He could easily have been one of the 3 greatest centers ever. He was better than Kareem in his day.
Re: Players' careers that have been tainted by injuries. Grandmama was a beast, super versatile...that whole 1990 UNLV team was nice, just wish that Stacey Augmon would have filled out his potential too.

Loved the guy.Talking about LJ, the Hornets were a lot of people's '2nd team' in the 90s. Johnson & Mourning were expected to do big things together. I remeber those guys along with Dallas 'three Js' were the teams of the future apparently.
Re: Players' careers that have been tainted by injuries. Allan Houston........... Anyone. He was a great shoter till his knee gave in, the guy could of at least played another 3-5 seasons.Penny & Grant, defently the big losers when it comes to injuries here.
