The Blazers have now won 6 home games in a row, and their home winning percentage currently sits at 74%. We haven't seen the Blazers this dominant at home since the 14-15 season, when they were at 78%.

The Blazers have gone 11 straight games with 20+ assists, so they are moving the ball well. They have also won 7 of their last 10 games, so these 2 stats seems to be correlated, though "correlation doesn't imply causation" or so they tell you in statistics class.

In addition, the Blazers have only commited 10 total turnovers in the last 2 games! What's even more astonishing is that Evan Turnover has one total turnover in the past 5 games! So 4 of the past 5 games, he's had 0 turnover.
th

Like an Aminu jumpshot, Portland has suddenly catapulted to 3rd in the West, the same position they finished at last season. It's hard to believe that just two weeks (8 games) ago, the Blazers were sitting in 7th, but that's the West for ya. There is just so much parity and competition, a myriad of teams are just bunched together, and winning/losing one game can swing you up/down the rankings wildly.

After a sweeping a very short two-game homestand, Portland now heads onto the road for 3 games next week.

First up on this road trip is a very tough game against the West's current 7th place team in Utah, where the Blazers have historically struggled. What's more, the Jazz have won a season-high 6 straight games (and 8 of their past 9), this despite recently losing a slew of players to injury. As you already know, they have bested the Blazers 2-0 this season, and now that Utah has seemingly found their groove (games), a Portland victory here seems nigh impossible.

But as the maker of Dame's shoes says,

It's a bad question. Doesn't specify if both players were at their top of their game? I'm assuming that is what you meant.
Brandon Roy beats Lillard simply because of size and ability to post up. But Lillard would give him a good run.

So does Moe play this game or take 3 or 4 more off?

I dont think Roy would be quick enough to guard Dame but I dont think Dame is big enough to guard Roy. Would be a good game in my opinion.

Blazers have already lost twice to Utah by an average of 26 points....ouch

it will take a super effort from Portland to get a win in SLC; and for sure, Nurkic can't let Gobert steal his lunch money again....I think the Jazz are just a bad match-up for the Blazers

Not these fucks again. At least they won’t have Rubio. How about we don’t let Ingles talk that shit, yeah?

Without Rubio's defense Dame will have a field day. I think we have a great chance to win convincingly against this shorthanded Jazz team.

A third of the Jazz roster is out for this game? Is it just @HCP or do we play a lot of teams who are missing players?

No it's just the Blazers that play teams without some of their players. All the other teams play teams at full strength.

Another matchup with the opposing team missing key players? Wow, does this happen to us a lot?

We have had multiple games over the years playing on MLK Day. I swear we have been in Atlanta, D.C. and Memphis on this special day in the past. How ironic that this year we are in SLC.

Does anyone know if Martin Luther King was any good at basketball?

Ingles and Korver are going to shoot a lot of 3s

Jazz its a tough team. We still can beat them. This game is huge I can see a brilliant performance by one of our guys. Gotta make them pay

What a ridiculous back to back.

9 eastern start tonight, and a 2+ hr flight to OKC after the game, and an 8 eastern start tmrw. 23 hrs between games + a back to back flying east for an earlier start? Who makes this bullshit schedule.

We have three starters over theirs with one of those matchups being close. They have two starters over ours.
We have the Unis.
We have the coach.
They have home court.
We have the bench.
They have the history this year and matchup well with us. Damn, they seem to have our number.
Ought to be close. We need this one bad.

Does anyone know if Martin Luther King was any good at basketball?
Obama was. His brother-in-law was once the coach of the Beavers. He also put Obama to the test on the basketball court just to agree that Michelle could get engaged to Barack.
I doubt that The Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King had time for basketball.
