same here actually, but i got this wire mesh screen insert pod thingy, and it has done well for me a random ground or 12 make their way into my cup if i dont take care in the preparation though
I grind my own beans with a bur grinder, and make 4 cups in one of these: I fill my travel mug and drink about half before I go to work. Before I leave, I top it off. Takes about the whole pot for that. I never put anything in my coffee. In the mornings I make this: About half-way through work, I walk 3 blocks to this place: I usually get a flavored coffee there. French Vanilla or Hazelnut.
I'm just not a Starbucks person. It's made the appeal to the masses. And Dutch Bros.? That shit is like crack! Too sweet, like the sugar they use went through tests to make it as strong as rocket fuel. Stumptown is good. Most coffee shops here suck at making coffee. If you've traveled at all in Europe and had the good fortune to end up in their coffee shops.... the coffee is way better.
NY times looked at what you get, its $50 a pound for that coffee. :MARIS61: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/08/dining/single-serve-coffee-brewers-make-convenience-costly.html I just find the coffee pretty bad. I used to have a single cup autobrew unit for coffee at home might have been a keurig, it sucked and I tossed it. I like the aeropress. Its kind of cool the way you brew it and it tastes good. Hard to make a lot of coffee with it. I have a French Press too, which is not bad, but I prefer the aeropress even though its like several pieces. was thinking of getting a nespresso. I'd love to learn how to pull a good shot, but not sure......kind of hard.
I'm not saying I get Starbucks, just that even they used to repull shots back in the day. That was back before their machines had 2 buttons. One for 1 shot and one for 2 shots. If you think it is hard to get good coffee up there, try living in San Diego. The place right by me can't brew espresso to save their lives. The beans are decent enough (their drip coffee is good), but americanos suck. I thought it was just weak so I ordered a double. Still sucked.
I'm amazed at the quantity of coffee people drink, I would shit my pants all day long if I did that. Coffee at our work is so terrible I've been drinking mostly tea or hot choclate lately.
Good quality coffee, not Starbucks, made with a Melita plastic drip cone and a #2 paper filter. Makes one cup at a time. Drink it straight black, to save on calories. I was a Starbucks customer for about 25 years, but when they went to promoting that crap they call Pike Place Roast, I've moved on and won't look back. I buy most of my beans at Allann Brothers Coffee....Phoenix and The Turtle. Silly assed name for coffee, but it's damned good. If you see somewhere that sells Arabian Mocha Sanani beans, and have some extra dough, it's the bomb. Go Blazers
oh i thought this thread was about bukkake, my bad, i dont like it black then i like my coffee like i like my women, extra bitter, its an acquired taste, easy to come by though or ground up and stashed in the freezer
Switching to decaf and I have yet to find one that's not gross. They taste like how crayons smell. Suggestions?
Cowboy coffee. Never tried it on decaf, that stuff is illegal in our cave. The idea behind cowboy coffee is to boil out the acid in coffee. If you want to give it a try, here is how. Warm the water Add coffee Bring to a rolling boil for 3 minutes. Take off heat and let it rest for 3 minutes. If you are getting grounds, add a little cold water to the spout and inside the pot. That should settle the grounds Enjoy
Drink real coffee. Perhaps a little weaker. Then only in the morning. Tea the rest of the day. Drink atleast 2 quarts a day! It keeps the gout away!!!
Hey! I got a coffee maker for the boat that is non electric. It works sitting over a burner on the stove. Makes coffee just like the electric ones does. Makes coffee every bit as good as the Maker at home, perhaps a little more slowly, but good stuff. I hated to see the electric one, draw a 100 amps via the inverted while making a pot of coffee.
I got lazy and went to Keurig. Too much effort. Im doing bulletproof coffee for breakfast. (Coffee + ghee + collagen powder + MCT OIL). I was using a bona vita drip but again, lots of effort if im just doing bulletproof coffee
Good God, the attraction of coffee is both it's taste and smell. I predict that crap will appeal to teens, you know, the way Red Bull customers are.
When you want coffee, you want it as soon as possible. Some tradeoff between taste and expedience usually is made.
