http://www.sigdomain.com/draftexpress_1.mp3 For those that don't know, John Givoney is the "creator" and the main guy over at DraftExpress. It's within the first quarter of the show, only 5-10 minutes in or so. But here are quotes from it: <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>It's widely rumored that Boston's pick is for sale. There's a couple of trade rumors going on there. One of them is with Portland, where Zach Randolph would go to Boston for Theo Ratliff and the #5 pick.</div> <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Boston's pick is on the block... even Indiana, I hear, is looking at that #5 pick. Jermaine O'Neal is a player that could be involved in a trade there, maybe for Theo Ratliff and that #5 pick.</div> Randolph could be had cheap, but I'd rather stay away from him. He's a terrible locker room guy, he misses/show up late for practice, he has off-court issues, and I don't want him around our young players. Not to mention, Zach is a guy that you have to feed deep in the post a ton. He'd take a lot away from Al and he doesn't play any defense. Jermaine O'Neal, on the other hand... well, look at my sig.
I agree.Zach is a black hole (the ball goes in but doesn't come out)has a poor attitude (although I read he tried to improve on it last year. Could just be highly impressionable)doesn't play very good D either, which means he's lazy.great scorer and very good rebounder though.something Al already does on the block.J.O. though adds interior toughness on D, rebounds and blocks shots, can hit a 15 foot J and wants to win, so he'll be alright being a third option on O. He'll move well without the ball and Paul and Rajon will find him enough although Al will get fed in the post more.I'd through in Green to sweeten the pot too.

First of all, it doesn't work financially, but I think he was just saying that's what the starting point would have to be. I know Bird really likes Delonte, by the way. Who knows? This is all speculation and us hoping/praying it happens, but if we could do something fairly cheap like Ratliff/#5/West/Scal's contract for Jermaine, that would be great. But I don't know if he goes that cheap.
No way you make that deal for Zach Randolph, but Jermaine O'Neal, go for it if it's there, his injuries are a bit of a concern, but you already have so many young players why not give up the pick for him.
If it's just the pick and Theo then go for JO. I agree that Randolph isn't what the team needs. Could JO really be had for that cheap or would we need to include Delonte and/or Gerald? That'd be great if we could get him just by throwing in Telfair.

That was really speculation, because he said that Indiana is interested in the #5 pick, so he said maybe something like Ratliff/#5 could happen. We'd need to throw another player or two in for salary matching. But I will say this: I'm more hesitant to trade both Green and the #5 pick for Jermaine now. When you think about it, that really is 2 potential All-Stars (especially if Brandan Wright falls to 5), plus a huge expiring contract. I think something along the lines of Ratliff, West, Telfair, and #5 makes sense for both sides (and it works financially). When a star gets traded, they always get 50 cents on the dollar, and a big expiring contract to go along with the #5 pick in THIS draft PLUS Gerald Green is a little too much.
Green is a risk.Does he become the next T-Mac/Joe Johson or is he the next HS player that shoulda gone to college?it's still to early to tell.I'm sure the Pacer's don't want another Jonathan Bender on their hands either so maybe they won't ask for him..Bird likes scrappy smart players, may ask for Gomes.. to get JO, I'd include him with Telfair, #5 and Theo.
Ooh, I think trading this Pick with Theo or Wally for Jermaine O'Neal would be fantasticRondo/WestPaul PierceGerald GreenJOAl Jeffersonthat looks nice...

If anything, if we ever get Jermaine, I think Jermaine/Al's shots will be close to even.
3rd option/share the post load with Al.point is I don't think he starts gettin 5-8 more shots/game than Al would.

The #5 pick in this draft plus Rondo is too much young talent. Make it Delonte and small filler (Telfair? Future protected pick?) and you've got a deal. By the way, if the reports are true, Jermaine is going to be a Laker.
