https://www.yahoo.com/sports/10-yea...fair-proving-tom-brady-cheater-184439991.html There are good kids in Kentucky
Science is a kid and his mom and a sister throwing footballs to see which one goes further now... How did this win anything science related.
Lol, for the record Brady probably did deflate those footballs but the leagues penalty for that was 25k not a 4 game suspension. Which is why Goodell is such a crappy commish he just makes up crap as he goes...
Goodell is more than just crappy, but, if Brady had any integrity what-so-ever he would have turned in his cellphone instead of having it broken and replaced the very day it was to be turned in. Sure it may have just been Goodell he was to hand the cellphone over the to. Though, had he done this in a court of law, he would have been charged with tampering with evidence and spent real time in jail. Brady could have ended the whole debate by being a standup person in the first place, yet he chose otherwise.
Why would you hand over your personal cell phone? This was about deflating footballs. Peoples lives are tied to their phone. Would you ever hand over your phone to your employer (im assuming it was a personal phone, not NFL issued)? I surely wouldn't. I'm not hiding anything, but there are lots of personal details and info in a cell phone.
Supposedly there was an investigation into the the deflating of footballs. Brady refused to cooperate with said investigation. Why wouldn't he cooperate? Not that any of this crap matters. The fact remains, if Brady had an ounce of integrity, Goodell wouldn't have had to go overboard with his penalty and the whole thing would have been history by now.
Could also say if Goodell would've handed him a 25k fine instead of jumping to a suspension I bet Brady would've paid it and moved on.
Throwing this back on Goodell when it is clearly Brady's fault for not cooperating in the first place is simply illogical. If Brady had an ounce of guts he would have cooperated, period. This is on Brady, not Goodell.
It's irrelevant if Brady has or had guts in this situation. They claimed he tampered with equipment which is a 25k fine according to their rules. Goodell decided he was going to suspend Brady for a bunch of games, I think originally it was 8 but I can't remember, may have been 4. Then the argument was never about if they deflated footballs or not, they had text's from the from the field employee's that they needed to prove they were supposed to deflate balls even if they didn't know to what degree. The argument has always been about Goodell's authority, which the CBA has dictated he can do whatever he wants in terms of doling out punishment. Had Goodell handed him the fine for tampering equipment I bet Brady would've paid up and that would've been the end of it. Goodell doled out a suspension and that's what the fight was over. Brady's phone wouldn't have done anything to change that. Brady didn't have to give his employer his personal property, as none of us have any obligation to do that.
Goodell is complicit. He allowed Brady and the Patriots to get away with one thing after the next because they are the darling of the NFL. Fuck him too.
Obviously, he destroyed it because he didn't want stuff to get out. Now what that stuff was and if it had anything to do with even football, in general, I don't know. I will say this when I buy a new phone which is about once a year or so, I will usually either destroy my phone or at least find a way to get any onboard storage removed. I mean it's not to "hide" any nefarious intents so much as most of our phones have CC information, PayPal information, calendars for my kids, information about my family or friends that I don't think is other people's business, etc.
Goddell has a problem handing out proper punishment. This is true. You can look at James Harrison's fines and you can see that. However, If you think that a 25K fine should've been what Brady got as punishment.... Well I'll argue against that till I die.
Destroying his phone does not pass the judge Judy test of: "does that reason make sense?" Since it doesn't, IMO it's not true.
I think that at the time the fine for tampering with equipment was 25k (that's what I read anyway). If that's what he should've gotten I don't really have any say in that. That's what the penalty was supposed to be though at least for the 'crime' they said he committed. It seemed like to me that they were trying to use the deflated football thing to go after him and the Patriots for all the 'misdoing's' they thought they did that they couldn't 100% prove. My argument is just that the NFL is so inconsistent with how they punish players it's the stupidest thing ever. I cannot believe that the NFLPA was so ineffective it gave the NFL and Goodell the right to dish out punishments in whatever way they feel like on that particular day...
Well, I believe he destroyed his phone, mostly to hide whatever information was on it. I'm not questioning that. I suppose there is a chance he didn't destroy his phone and just didn't want to give it up.
If I wanted to continue playing in the NFL and I was innocent, I would have turned over my cell phone. I think it's pretty clear that his team should have lost the Super Bowl but did not because of Brady's cheating.
