That was a great movie. But I think the same actors might be a little old for the parts and I see no one else with the necessary talent.
"Well, sir, it's this rug I had. It really tied the room together." - The Dude, His Dudeness...Duder...or El Duderino, if you know, you're not into the whole brevity thing.
Unpopular opinion... that movie wasn't that great. And I usually enjoy irreverence.. but it didn't strike me. (See what I did there? huehuehue) That being said, Jeff Bridges is one of my favorites. Just sucks I didnt catch on to this movie.
Only watch it one time? I don't recall what mood I was in but the first time I saw it I didn't love it myself. Subsequently, it is classic.
Jeff Bridges as the dude is as good as Harry Dean Stanton in Repo Man or Woody Harrelson in Kingpin......all these movies are great and terrible at the same time...
I must have seen it four or five times. There have only been a few movies I've seen more often than that: Airplane: 2001: A Space Odyssey; Northwest Passage; The Pink Panther; All Sean Connery James Bond films; My Fair Lady; Oklahoma; South Pacific; To Kill a Mocking Bird; Gone With the Wind; North by NorthWest; Rocky Horror Picture Show. Some movies are so crappy that I'll watch about ten minutes, give up and erase it.
