I don't think they are getting a 1st for him without taking on a bad contract so maybe. The fact that they are future 2nds they'd probably like and they take no money back. Not sure though.

Agreed. I can see Green being useful, but I don't see how it becomes value to us. Do we use a 1st to add him and dump a contract? Leonard and a 1st for Green? Does that really improve us at all this year, or going forward? Seems like an overpay for Green. He's decent, just not worth a 1st. Even with the salary dump, IMO.
Maybe if it was a backup plan to moving Aminu but, how many pieces are you really going to move? It's not fantasy basketball, or 2K, a team competing for HCA, regardless of what you can say about their contending chances, just doesn't seem likely to have like 3 deals in succession at the deadline, overhauling 1/4th the roster or something.

Agreed, the only thing that would make sense is if it was part of a 3 team deal say for Love (just an example) where Aminu, Green, and Temple went to the Cavs as expirings and Turner and a pick went to Memphis and Love to Portland. Seems like the Cavs would need more than just expiring contracts though.

Harkless and a couple of2nds to Memphis for green and temple. Saves them almost 5 million this year, and they're close to the tax right now, so breathing room could be nice. Then those 2 aminu, Simon's for love? Is Simon's enough? Getting entirely out of his contract, and pairing Simons and Sexton in the backcourt?
Then 1st and tpe for prince?

    Lillard/turner
    CJ/curry
    Prince/layman
    Love/Collins
    Nurk/Leonard

I'd be scared of the hit to our defense with love for amumu, but its intriguing on offense

But hadn't thought of the expiring contract angle, and am now intrigued at the possibilities it could open up. Clippers want to be players in FA next season. Swapping Gallinari for Leonard saves them over 10 million next season. If we move Harkless and Leonard for Gallinar, Harkless to Memphis for expirings?
    So many possibilities.

Yeah, the only issue is it would have to be one big trade as you can't combine players after you trade for them for 2 months.

Oh for sure. Just easier to type out as separate. But I think a mo for those 2 is doable without tons of assets back to them. Something similar to Wilson chandler and lin deals from offseason

Looks like Thon Maker has requested a trade, any interest?

I also now wonder if our rumored interest in Lin was as an expiring deal, more than actual interest in Lin. Lin and Prince for Hark or Leonard and a 1st allows us in a 3 way deal to use a 13 million expiring.

Really, I'm wasting time on trade machine, and getting myself excited over deals that won't happen. lol

It's scary how alike his career has been up to his point to Zach's. Let's hope Collins improves faster

Well there are some serious questions about how old Thon really is and this is his 3rd season but I can see some parallels. I wouldn't mind taking a cheap flier on him and Olshey was allegedly interested in him before his draft.

Edit: The only problem is we can't really provide much more playing time.

Thon could probably get more PT on a team like Atlanta, what about this:

Atlanta gets Turner, Stauskas (or any throw in), Thon Maker, future Por 1st

Milwaukee gets Dedmon and Swanigan (or any throw in?)

Portland gets Taurean Prince, Jeremy Lin, Jason Smith, and future Mil 2nd

If he's not happy playing for one of the best teams in the NBA I doubt he'd be happy getting Meyers minutes here. I could be wrong but I don't think our situation is that much different as he has been given lots of chances to establish himself in the rotation.

I just wonder if we'd get cut out, and they'd do a simple Maker- prince swap

Certainly possible. I read a Bucks forum quite frequently and they seem to want Dedmon more than Prince because of team needs. Just about every one said they would trade Smith and Maker for Dedmon and a small salary going back.

I’m not big on Maker, guys probably 25 years old already. Seems to have all the tools but can’t figure out how to use them. Just my opinion.
