Breaking Benjamin is pretty good. They're from the city I'm living in right now in Pennsylvania. When I was living in the Detroit area, The White Stripes and Chiodos were from there, and they're both great bands.
Well, I'm from the bay. I guess the Pack. they're from Berkeley which is like 20-30 minutes from where I live.
Well Mac Dre grew up in the town right next to mine so if they have to be really local him I guess but if not then Andre Nickatina who grew up in SF which is like 40 minutes from me. BTW where do you live again powerballin?
Well considering Tupac went to the baltimore school of performing arts where he found his love for music id say my favorite local artist would be Tupac Amaru Shakur in a landslide.
My dad now works in the same cubicle as the lead guitarist and bassist in this band, Engine 88. They were huge in the SF area at one point in the mid 90's and were about to go on tour and do a CD with the Counting Crows (The lead singer in Engine was in the same band as the counting crows singer, where the counting crows singer was the tambourine player) but they broke up right before. Keep in mind, in this video, the singer had a nasty cold.http://youtube.com/watch?v=53DqixLIrf0My dad's friend was the sound mixer for this band called Swell, who is consiteed of one musician, who does every instrument here. Swell had a small cult in the SF area seeing as they made more albums than live appearances, and only started to play in clubs with a real band before they stopped playing. Swell is pretty big in Europe I hear.http://youtube.com/watch?v=XsQCOPi4t1g
Classified easily. I doubt you've heard of him unless you're Canadian, he's a hip hop artist who's worked his way up.
Mine is definitely Arcangel. In just over a year he's done what people needs years to do. Nobody knew him 2 years ago, and now he's the top reggaeton rapper. He's not even close to matching Daddy Yankee's popularity, but that's because DY makes stupid commercial songs which people in the USA will like. Arcangel has great lyrics, but I don't think he'll ever be as big as DY since he doesn't make sh*t like Gasolina Invalid Video Link
If we're talking mainstream artists that has made it then Bone Thugs-n-Harmony is it. If not then Corey Bapes is alright. I like the beats kickdrums produces for him and on top of that some of his rhymes are kinda nice.
Lyrics Born - He is a god, especially liveBoots Riley - Very clever and politically consciousRoy Zimmerman - One of the greatest satirists out there
