I believe Jrue is easily worth giving up CJ and our 20-25th pick of 2019. Just like that you get a better team.

Yeah. Just shows what a fucking prick LMA was. The fact some of our fans give him a pass is amazing to me.

We can forget AD but this makes Mirotic even more available. That’s the guy we should be targeting. Leonard and a first is close to what the pelicans gave up for him last year, so I think it’s pretty fair. Throw in another expiring to open a roster spot and get the money even closer.

What star would go to Houston and play with Harden. When they know they wouldn't be getting his there touches. Harden is good player but his stats are inflated due to how much he shoots and how much he get bail out by referees.

I wonder if Dame will comment on his buddy AD ring chasing? Dame has been pretty outspoken on how he feels about it.
AD just destroyed the Pels. They may get a good enough package to continue on but make no mistake about it, he killed that team.
On the other hand, maybe they will suck so bad they move them to Seattle.

That would be a lovely trade. We could extend him in the Summer for $12million or so per season and he would fit in so well here.

Back to AD though. If New Orleans trades him now, Boston isn’t an option.

So let’s say we put a package headlined by CJ and Zach on the table. Let’s look at some other *realistic* teams that would be interested in AD. I’m going to ignore all rebuilding teams just because I don’t think he would re-sign with any of them.

Indiana: Is Myles Turner a more attractive headliner?

Washington: Don’t see how swapping out Beal for AD makes them a contender

    LA: Brandon Ingram?

    LAC: SGA?

Denver: They can offer up Millsap (club option for 19-20) along with Michael Porter. No picks though.

Golden State: don’t think the Pelicans would want Klay. Don’t think he’d stay.

    Minnesota: Covington?

Sacramento: Bagley? Would AD stay here?

San Antonio: Aldridge? Why would the Pelicans want him?

    Utah: ?

I don’t know guuuuys, initially I dismissed the idea, but looking around the league, I’d say Portland has a chance. CJ, Zach, and some picks (maybe even Simons or Trent) is a damn strong offer, and better than a lot of (playoff caliber) teams can put on the table. If I was the Pelicans I might just wait until the summer though, so Boston can get involved. But even then Portland has a better chance than most.

Outside the clutches of Damian Lillard, CJ goes off for a triple-double, showing what he might be like if he had his "own team."
Soon after, Anthony Davis requests a trade.

    Hmmm.

    Imagine this 5

    Dame
Wes (once he gets bought out)
    Harkless or Layman
    AD
    Nurkic

    Start Layman at SG initially

That 5 would force Stotts to play through Nurk too. Imagine adding AD and making a permanent switch to playing through Nurk god damn.

Sure getting AD would be great for short term but for the long term it not good. But what we could be do get him in trade and next year deadline we trade him to the Lakers for nice package because I really believe that where eventually he will end up. But he could pull a Paul George and like here and sign contract here. But you should already know by trade deadline next year if he will resign with us. I would give up CJ and Zach and couple first for him. Due to if you get him your really win win situation. You either sign him or get a very good package of really good young players from the Lakers.

If we swapped out CJ (and Zach, etc) for AD, I think we would be in the conference finals. We’d also have a size advantage over GS. GS would probably still win, but no one would present a tougher matchup imo.

    I would go big:

    CJ/Collins/Turner/Simons or Trent and picks

    for

    Davis/Holliday

If New Orleans is having to move AD, it is complete rebuild time. For Portland, getting AD/Holliday to go with Dame/Nurkic puts them in position to get a FA to come play on 'the cheap' for a chance to win a title.

Add into that, I don't believe G-State won't look the same next season.

This idea was before his trade request.

Man, if the Pels were offering up both Davis and Holiday, they'd be able to fetch a much bigger king's ransom than anything we'd offer.

I think the package Toronto gave up for Kawhi is a good starting point. They gave up DeRozan, Pöltl, and a protected (1-20) first. They also got back Danny Green along with Kawhi.

I think CJ, Zach, and a first is close, but if we added another pick, or Simons, that’d be a pretty damn good offer. It may also be the most realistic, all things considered, for New Orleans. Even if they waited for Boston, I can’t see a better offer unless they put Tatum on the table. Their highest projected pick right now is the one they have from Sacramento, which, as of this moment, lands outside the top 10. Jaylen Brown and the 12th pick in the draft isn’t a better offer. Cheaper? Yes. Better? No.

AD didn't destroy the Pels. Their ownership leaving their GM in charge for so long while he continually failed to put better pieces around AD is what destroyed them.

I refuse to get my hopes up. Portland getting Davis would be like buying a powerball ticket, and listening to all of your numbers show up one by one when they do the drawing.
