He was constantly considered to be selfish and whatnot. He was a fierce competitor and he did those things as much for himself as teammates. When he got all star teammates fit for 6 rings he didn't have to be as hard on them or as selfish. But when he got put in a horrible position in Washington, what happenned...broke the spirit of Kwame Brown. Kobe didn't always believe in his teammates, but it was enough to win 3 rings as he was the main playmaker for that team. All you hear from his teammates are how encouraging he is and how he wills them to be better. Kobe has made game winning passes and let others take the last shot, so I don't know where you are going there.

You think it's tough to be mediocre for years but as I said this isn't about basketball. Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'neal were my two heroes. They were the people that I always looked up to from age 6 to 14 (11 for Shaq). The Lakers are the most important thing in my life. I'm sorry but I'm very, very obsessed. If I'm not watching a game then I'm on the computer watching plays or reading about them. I have dreams where they win the championship. It's almost unhealthy but I can't help it. I can't stop being a Lakers fan, so I have to stop being a Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'neal fan. You have no idea how hard that is so just shut your mouth.</div>Like the Lakers fans can comment on being mediocre for years You guys won 3 titles in the last 10 years..quit bitchin'

Al Jefferson and West are solid young players but when you get a chance to get maybe the best player in the game you take it over young guys with "potential". Plus Pierce isn't young, he wants to win now and if Boston doesn't do something soon they could be facing a situation where maybe he wants out so they get better and make Pierce happy. And why would Kobe want to go to Boston? Two words man, Paul Pierce. Put Pierce at sf and Kobe at sg rondo at pg perkins at center bring in another big through free agency and then just build their bench up a little bit and they're a contender in the East. Pierce and Kobe alone could get Boston in the playoffs.</div>Al Jefferson, Wally Szczerbiak, Gerald Green, Delonte West, and the #5 pick is a small package? Well first of all, you obviously know nothing about Al Jefferson, how gifted he is at age 22, how he's already a walking double-double, and how valuable a true post option is in the NBA. Gerald Green + the #5 pick is a loooot of young talent. Paul Pierce and Kobe Bryant... how could that work?Secondly, Kobe Bryant coming to Boston... why? Going to a place with Pierce and a ton of inexperienced players (also while losing the best young players they have, other than Rondo, in the deal you proposed). We'd have Kobe, Pierce, Rondo, Gomes, and Perkins... bench would be a recovering Tony Allen, Leon Powe, Brian Scalabrine, and Michael Olowokandi. Pierce/Kobe wouldn't co-exist and the supporting cast would be very well below average. That trade deals our entire future (other than Rondo), a legit big man, and all of our young depth. Not to mention, 90% of Boston fans hate Kobe Bryant (I'm not one of them, just saying). Your package was WAAAAAAAAAY too much. Kobe Bryant is not coming to Boston.
Kobe doesn't fit in on the Celtics at all. We'd have to entirely blow up the team and end up with two great players and no supporting cast. How about this deal:Chicago Bulls get:Kobe Bryant - $19,490,625Los Angeles Lakers get:Ben Gordon - $4,881,669Kirk Hinrich - $11,000,000the #9 Overall Draft Pickand maybe someone else to match salaries if necessaryThat would give the Lakers the potential lineup next year of:C - Andrew Bynum/Kwame BrownPF - Lamar OdomSF - Julian WrightSG - Ben GordonPG - Kirk HinrichMeanwhile the Bulls would have:C - Ben WallacePF - Tyrus ThomasSF - Luol DengSG - Kobe BryantPG - Chris DuhonThoughts?
After Kobe signing the "Laker for life deal" willingly, I have lost a little respect for him. Although I can understand that he wants to win, still..... This is good and bad for Laker/Kobe haters. The bad part is, what if he comes to your team? Seeing Kobe on another team, a team that has a good chance at a play-off run, will be exciting and I wonder what kind of awards this will help him win, or not win if that be the case (reffering to the kind of teammates he will have and the possible success or lack their of). This is just another marketing tool to get people to buy more Kobe jerseys (joke).

On top of that their is no doubt in my mind Kobe wouldn't mind going to Chicago. It was one of his choices in his free agent year, its a massive market, and he has a pretty decent supporting cast.If the Bulls can manage to keep Deng and get Kobe your looking at Eastern Conf. Champs year after year after year. I dunno if it will go exactly like this but I'm pretty sure Kobe is off to Chicago. One of the better fantasy trades I've seen in a while

Looking at the successful teams over the last few years, you don't need a megastar to win championships. The best thing about that lineup is, you can wait for Bynum to develop and not have to worry about wastin the best years of the best player on the planet.

You have to consider the Bulls have the hammer here. They could give the Lakers one of the best packages for kobe in the NBA without DENG (if not the best considering kobe chooses where he gets traded to)

Al Jefferson is a good post but can you seriously tell me you'd take Al Jefferson over the greatest player in the game right now? And its not like this would be the only deal Boston would make, they would obviously try to get a big man through free agency which is very much possible and then also building that bench up a little bit. Right now Boston is probably 3-4 years away from even being a 8th seed type team and with Pierce there that doesn't cut it for him. Pierce wants to win now, he obviously won't win with that team plus a 5th overall selection. And once you get good talent like a Pierce and Bryant guys would want to come to Boston, you'd be amazed at the names that would be interested in playing in Boston or the guys that would end up in Boston. I don't watch Boston a lot but I know Green isn't some great player just yet. Dude is an average shooting guard in my eyes right now, probably has potential but when you have a chance to get someone as big as Kobe Bryant F*ck potential. And about Pierce and Bryant not being able to get along, when have you ever seen Pierce not get alone with a player? I'm sure if he could play with Walker he could damn sure play with Kobe. This like I said would make Boston and contender in the East right off the back. And all those fans who supposedly hate Kobe was just chanting MVP for him last season right? I'm pretty damn sure the fans would get over it pretty soon.
