TO Far left.......It appears that the demo socialist are wanting to basically abolish what the democratic party used to stand for. Im hopeful moderate/centrist Dem's take them on. Im very liberal on some things and basically conservative on fiscal stuff, but mostly moderate overall because of I believe in balance. If the people want to go in the extreme socialis direction I guess its ok by me, but I won't like it. Which is also ok, right?
I've heard this propaganda line all my life. Why don't you get with it and join the new Republican line--"Both sides do it."
All I said was to far left for me! Is it wrong for me to have an opinion? I know both sides have extremes, that pretty obvious. Cannot we all have different points of view or should I be segregated from those that think differently? I certainly don't want to single you out and put you aside! Propaganda's evidence are when people are so hell bent one way...
But you object only to the left extremists? Your initial post in this thread didn't seem to mention anything about extremists on the right. It's fine for you to have whatever opinion you want. Doesn't mean I won't question it though. barfo
I realize that. But when they want to take away the right to purchase their own in order to support government supplied, ? Geez louise, I grew up when every county had medical offered to those that couldn't afford it. Sly, I'm not not in favor of Government running all things, competition is good for consumers. What would it be like if the State of Oregon owned and controlled basketball at all levels? Or put stops on TV network negotiating packages that consumers like us want. Nothing wrong with Government having some control over things, but not to the point its stifles competition, growth and efficiency because government has never been great at any of those.
Barfo, I feel exactly the same about radical righties. Im was referencing the recent new blood in congress on the left that are making noise. Which is cool as they have their right too. Why cant I state that the party is not what it used to be whenI belong to as well as my entire family growing up. It has and is changing very rapidly.
I think this is a misunderstanding. Very few, if any, are proposing that private insurance to supplement a government plan should be illegal. It is equivalent to me saying that Republicans want to end Medicare and Social Security altogether. barfo
Ok, but you are taking a few people with relatively little power and suggesting that the party as a whole is defined by them. That's not a reasonable position. There have always been congresspeople who were more leftist than the average Democrat. That isn't something new. barfo
Maybe so... its just they seem more aggressive now or maybe its just all the media types. When I was a teenager in the mid sixties most young people especially on college campuses were anti government and/or establishment.
America spends more on healthcare per person than any other nation. Yet our quality of healthcare is only mediocre. Let’s spend less with better results by pooling resources and cutting out layer over layer over layer of administrators and stakeholders.
Media has been covering, in particular, AOC, rather heavily. In part that's because the right wing has chosen to promote her, in hopes of convincing voters that she's representative of the party overall. Based on your posts, I'd say their plan is working well. barfo
That's like someone saying in 2015, Donald Trump is running in the Republican primary, so obviously Republicans are headed towards being a party of know-nothing authoritarian racist traitors. Oh... Well, I guess AOC may indeed be the future of the Democratic party, then. barfo
