I can't see him sticking around without Kobe Bryant not on the team. We all know Phil's not going to want to rebuild in this stage of his career. I think he takes off like he did when Chicago blew up and comes back if a situation fits him.

If Kobe does get traded, Phil will defiently leave. His health gets worse every year(didnt he just have 2 hip surgeries?), and Im sure hes not going to want to help rebuild the Lakers. He will probably retire and maybe make a comeback to another team in a couple years.

I read somewhere that he was already on his way out. There going for long term and Phil Jackson isn't a long term coach.

If Phil does leave, I wouldnt mind having him as the Bulls coach again at all. Our coach has done an excellent job but Phil with the Bulls again(espically if we were to get kobe, would be gold) even without Kobe he could coach us to a championship. I believe he'll retire though and maybe come back to coach in a few years.

Kobe and Phil both stay on the best team in NBA History, the L.A. Lakers. Kobe will not be a Bull. Phil Jackson will not be a Bull.

The only time I see him leaving, is if the Laker's trade Kobe to the bulls for there young upcoming stars, who aren't at superstar material level yet.

I don't know why you think that would be the case for Kobe.

Kobe wants to be traded to a winner and the only superstars that want to be traded don't want to take Kobe's place on a team that would struggle to make the playoffs. The Lakers would get young players in return and not equal value in talent. It may be better for the future, but they would not compete anytime soon. Jackson is old and I don't think he'd want to be part of this. He'd either go to a contender or get a front office job if Kobe would be traded.

We don't know if Kobe will even be traded yet...but if they do trade him, Phil will leave...He's the type of coach who's "too good" to be coaching rebuilding teams.

The Lakers won't get superstars in return for Kobe. Kobe wants to go to a team where he has the best shot at winning, so if a team gives up their superstars, then he's going to be back in the same situation he was in with LA, so he'll probably veto the trade, because he has that trade clause that allows him to do that.2 reasons I'm pretty sure Kobe will not be traded.1. The Lakers are getting O'Neal most likely which the combo of Kobe and another O'Neal will put them back towards the top of the West IMO.2. Whatever team Kobe goes to has to pay him an extra $9.5 million dollars via another trade clause he has, and I don't think many teams will want to do that, unless your the Knicks.

Kobe doesn't want to leave the Lakers because they aren't winning. He wants to leave because of management, and how they don't have the same agenda as Kobe. Kobe said he didn't care if he was traded to Atlanta, because he just wants to play for a team that wants to build around him to win now. The Lakers plan was more long-term and Jerry Buss lied to Kobe, telling him they wanted to build around him now, but were really building for the future.

He said it's not just because they are not winning, but because he needs management to have the same agenda as he does and build a team around him for now. He doesn't want to wait around for the long-term plan, that management had in mind.
