Not a fan. Essentially attaching a 1st to dump Turner and trading Zach for a half-season rental or Randle and a possible half-season rental of Mirotic.

Blame the owners. When the "luxury tax" threshold is so low that even middle-of-the-pack teams are constantly up against it, it is no longer a luxury tax. The entire system needs a huge revamp to allow teams more flexibility, which is the antithesis of what the majority of owners want. The consequences of a bad contract should be to the bottom line, not the ability to compete on the floor. Until that changes, fans are going to judge players by their contract.

There was a HUGE bump back in 2016. The owners wanted to spread it out over see cereal treats but the players wanted it all up front. The GMs then went and spent it all ood which the owners signed of on because when one started doing it, the others didn't want to be left behind.
No one forced all those 4 years contracts on Neil. .. that was his idea. Even if he spent the money, they could have been for 2-3 years. No one else was offering that kind of money.

Me too. I wonder what its take. Two future 1sts? Idk. He'd be the perfect 3rd big though. I think he could play PF if needed as hes pretty agile. Nurk, Bamba, and Collins would be a great trio going forward.

Can we get Wesley Johnson's expiring instead? I'm not giving up a 1st in that deal if we have to take Solomon Hill too.

The Leonard part can be separated.

I find it strange Kyrie wanted to get out of Bron's shadow so much he whined and got traded now he is open to playing with Bron again -- Kyrie is a very good player but he is a whiny little bitch. I am so tired of some star players of the NBA trying to dictate everything just cause they woke up on the wrong side of the bed and decide they want out. The NBA needs to try and step in and fix all this cause while sure it's cool to see star players team up in the end it hurts the league more then it helps when there really is a group of Haves and Have Not's.

Looks like the Kyrie to LA may (unfortunately) be a real thing after all....

He realized that being "the man" comes with a lot of responsibilities and it looks like he can't handle it. I still like Kyrie and it was pretty cool for him to admit that he sounded immature (I forget his verbatim) about leaving LeBron and being a leader. However, I'll lose respect for him if he ends up reuniting with LeBron.

Interesting that Portland is one of 5 teams they are taking bets on Anthony Davis landing with before the deadline. Odds will probably change some with this Kyrie news.

Thinking about this more I actually reckon the return they got for Porzingis was fine. A fairly decent young point guard with potential on a team friendly rookie scale deal, two first round picks and $32million of cap space is a good return for a player who is coming off injury and wants to leave.
