I knew someone would take this the wrong way. Though I do understand. I probably should have explained it better. As far as the argument goes, the cause of the warming doesn't matter even in the slightest. It's only when it comes to the cleanup that the cause of the warming matters. They turned the argument into a silly game of words to divide the parties. Keep them from talking to each other and they may not ever figure out that the people they support are no better than the ones they rail against.
The real questions for me is how much affect do humans have on it. Is the current warming cycle all that out of line with past warming cycles? will the cooling cycle be greatly altered by whats going on now? I don't really care about the politics you can say it's all republicans or conservatives or whatever you want to make yourself happy. I just think more research should be done and ideas shouldn't be laughed out of the arena because they don't fall in line with the zeitgeist of current political thoughts and opinions. I've read a lot of opinions of supposedly "qualified" people and they tend to differ quite a bit on the above questions. I'd also like to see environmental impact studies if humans continue to try to intervene, will it eventually make things worse?
I've never been in cold like that but it did hit 29 below zero when I was in St. Louis in the mid 80s. Same year it went up to 113 in the summer. People were dying in the heat. Here's a hint if you plan on moving there, St. Louis is kind of a hell hole.
Yes, but this much, this often? Now, please explain to me the science that shows that all this icy weather is somehow making the sea level rise. Oh yeah, the sea level is rising and that's not disputable. So, how? Huh? How? My grade school science is contradicting your claim and I won't even go into high school and then college chemistry, physics and thermodynamics. But perhaps you've got some kind of Nobel prize winning breakthrough to reveal to the world.
The sea level rate of rise is slowing Lanny. Have you been keeping up? What happens when it stops rising Lanny? Can you venture a possibility?
Rate of rise 1993 - 2003 = 3.8 mm/year or 1" every 6.7 years Rate of rise 2003- 2010 = 2.6 mm/year or 1" every 10 years Source is NASA mods by MarAzul
No. But I have it in fresh water this winter. On the Multnomah channel, shouldn't get all the barnacle growth.
