Taking the Saric trade a step further:

Would you still do it if they insisted on us taking back Dieng?

That’s not a press conference. Or not what I meant.

I think it depends on what the organization thinks of the acquisition. If we got Anthony Davis I'm guessing there would be a big press conference. Hood could go either way.

If the sporting news report is to be believed, we at least know that Moe is the guy they’re shopping, most likely attached to our pick. With the acquisition of Hood, I don’t think we’re in the market for wings, especially ones that don’t really defend, so forget Fournier. Pelicans are awful on the wing. They’re starting a guard at small forward and have almost no depth. Harkless would make sense for them. He’d step into their starting lineup immediately. I’d rather trade Turner but he’s more important to our team.

Is Moe more attractive to the Pelicans than Wilson Chandler? Chandler is an expiring but it’s not like the Pelicans need the cap space. Harkless would interest me more for numerous reasons if I’m them.

Yeh, Hayward looks pretty slow, but he still plays really smart. I'm interested in him.

this looks like a lot of rehashing of older 'reports', including things Olshey has said in the past. And it's also taking a lot of liberties with terms by essentially labeling Hood a "difference maker". That's really broadening the definition

and it broadens it further by essentially implying that all the Blazers are really offering is a player the level of Harkless, with his knee issue, and a late 1st round pick. If Portland was really looking to add a difference maker, they would not be taking Zach out of the equation. This sure looks like confirmation of Portland being "aggressive" by offering little in the way of assets and upside, and hoping to strike gold in the bargain bin...in other words, Olshey's comfort zone

I'd rather have Saric than Mirotic all day. They can have Harkless and a 1st for Saric and change.

Dame: I found out (about Rodney Hood trade) when everyone else found out.

Casey: Are you expecting any more moves to come (not necessarily with Portland, but in the league)?

Dame: I know about a lot of stuff that's probably gonna happen. Y'all just gonna have to wait for that to happen. I'm pretty sure things are going to happen.

Agreed. His contract status makes Dario more appealing.

Sure, but I want to offload 2 of our presumed "rotation" players in that deal. Turner/Moe for Saric/Dieng/Bayless

I think Dame genuinely likes Hood as a player. He’s been pretty complimentary of him. Said he was always a tough matchup and remembers Hood guarding him.

As far as this quote, he’s probably talking about Davis going somewhere.

Would you still include a pick?

From Minnesota's perspective (even though Thibs got fired) they probably need to feel like they "won" any trade involving Saric even though he hasn't played well for them because if they don't get much for him that would mean they basically traded Butler for Covington.

Is this legit and more moves are coming, or Dame is trolling us?

I just wonder if it’s related to Portland. If the info was coming from his boy Haynes, you’d think Haynes would’ve reported about it by now. But if it’s coming from Olshey it’s obvious why no one knows.
