So even if he works out, all we can offer is the MLE?

Wait, he accepted the qualifying offer so he wouldn’t be restricted but why wouldn’t we have his bird rights?

That’s the way the CBA works. Accept the QO and get traded, he had to approve the trade and waive his Bird Rights.

I gave him props for the trades. I just stopped listening to his sales jobs a while ago.

So far, so good. Rodney had a great first game as a Blazer.

So, assuming we can't trade the expirings of Turner/Harkless/Leonard to create cap space, what's the max we can offer him with the MLE? 5 milions?

It would suck to boost his value and then lose him this summer.

It would be so heartwarming if Hood could hit 3s on 40% on a high Volume. I'm sick and tired of Aminu and Harkless bricks

Until you look at the playoff stats, which is where my big concern is.

He needs to do what Nurk did during the all star break after he was traded. Train like hell, memorize the plays, and get reps in with any asst coach he can find. The opportunity is right there for him if he works for it.

If he plays well here we got no chance to re-sign him unfortunately, unless we make a gentlemen's agreement to give him a better deal in July 2020. Then again we will need to extend Harkless, Turner and Meyers in 2020 which will not leave that much money, plus Dame will probably get his extension then as well.

Haha. I guess we will re-sign two of them, probably, but at a paycut deals. Something like $32million / 4 years for Meyers and $15million / 2 years for either Harkless or Turner. It's still over a year away though so who knows.

Same as the Seth Curry situation last summer. We knew there wasn't a good long-term story at the end of this rainbow either way...either he sucked and we didn't get a lot out of him, or he did well and will make more than the MLE this summer. :dunno:

    I guess it's a market inefficiency...
