I guess a little known casualty of trade deadline day is that we got LMA back? I mean, it was only 4 years ago...
You watch it? Did you like it? Anything interest you? Anything you'd do differently? https://www.nba.com/amp/league/allstar/2019/draft
I wonder how they’re going to let harden go 1-on-5 for 29 minutes. And does Dame crack crunch time for LBJ?
I saw the part where Lebron suggest trading Westbrook so he can spend time with his good friend Embid. I enjoyed that. Sir Chuck of course stole the show when he suggested that all of the Freak's bench will be traded for Anthony Davis.
I've really lost a lot of respect for basketball players, who apparently don't know much about basketball. GAs team is subpar. On the "Players Only Broadcast" by TNT, IT kept going on and on about how the refs were delaying the game unnecessarily when any fan would have known that they needed to get the game clock just right because the period was almost over. The other "commentators" couldn't explain it to him, either. Eventually, the refs came over to explain it, lol. Bird was a mediocre coach. Magic was a terrible coach. Jordan is a horrible GM. Chuck and Shaq are idiotic....
I'm mostly with you, Wizard, but Bird was a very good coach. He just stuck to his "3 year shelf life" rule and receded quickly into the shadows. Think how many times Lillard has been best friends with scrubs who get traded away, and how he and CJ campaigned for an obviously washed up Melo. Star players tend to be lousy judges of talent, and even worse communicators.
Call me a sucker, but I like this draft thing. Now they just need to start picking the top 24 players in either conference and call it a day
Lebron picked Dame 3rd out of the reserves. Gave Lillard a bunch of respect. Lillard was picked before Aldridge, Before Beal. Before Westbrook. Before Griffin. Before Lowry and Towns. Damian Lillard has obviously made his mark.
Bird also had health issues that sidelined him both as a player and a coach. Most players are very knowledgable and intelligent about the game they've spend way over 10000 hours practicing and playing. However, it's a shock that so many (20%???) aren't.
Elite athletic accomplishments usually go hand in hand with elite selfishness, in terms of inner drive and ability to tune out distractions. A side effect of that is being much more aware of what you're doing than that of people around you. Taking the next step to coaching, it's not hard to see why so many great athletes lack the ability to focus on others.
yeah, it doesn't make much sense to have players drafted to one of the two teams regardless of conference but the conference determines the representatives with 12 from each conference.
