For those who couldn’t see it in theaters, or missed it, or just want to see it again (me!), Won’t You Be My Neighbor—the acclaimed documentary about Fred Rogers and his groundbreaking show Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood—will be airing on TV this Saturday, on two different networks.

Get your tissues ready—a lot of tissues!—because it’s a wonderful and moving portrait of a man who did so much for so many kids.

You can watch Won’t You Be My Neighbor on either:

    1. PBS, Saturday, Feb. 9, at 8 p.m. ET
    2. HBO, Saturday, Feb. 9, at 8 p.m. ET, and on HBO GO and HBO Now
While HBO acquired the rights to air the documentary, it said in its press release that the premium cable network “will honor Fred Rogers’ contribution and commitment to public television with a special presentation of the film on PBS’ Independent Lens, coinciding with the HBO debut.”

I'm torn. I kind of want Mr. Rogers to stay the way he is in my memory bank, unsullied by data and facts and backstory and behind-the-scenes and ...

In a time where the Dems look to destroy great American heroes like Trump, this will only cause them to tear apart the memory of Mr Rogers.

What's wrong with celebrating Captain Kangaroo? Believe it or not, I was a year or two too old to be watching the Captain. My younger brother was head over heals in love with the good Captain.

Or I could sit back on my rocking chair on the front porch, drink beer, smoke cigarettes and swear like a sailor at the people walking by on the sidewalk.
I get a lot of astonished looks from passers-by. Must be they like the torn T-shirt and the boxer shorts which go well with the stubble of a beard.

Starting in 5 mins, the part where he gets high on cocaine and bangs hookers in Las Vegas is suppose to be hilarious.

I didn't see this thread in time, but luckily it replayed a few hours later. I loved the show as a kid, and I had a friend in high school who claimed Mister Rogers as his hero. I was in his car when we heard the news over the radio that he had died, and I'll never forget that moment.

    What a great man.

Don't forget Civil Rights Champion. Mr Rogers washed his feet in the hot sun with this man on national TV BEFORE civil rights passed. I truly loved that man:

    THEN there's this:

    What a great American.

Mr. Rogers: You make each day a special day. You know how, by just your being you.

Officer Clemons: Fred, were you talking to me?

Mister Rogers: Yes, I had been talking to you for years, but you heard me today.

You can tell Fred Rogers had a huge impact on his life.
