We just celebrated MLK birthday not to long ago and with 6 kids and 10 grandkids over the years Ive talk with them about what he stood for and that he was one of the Great Americans that ever lived. And also I will say this. A lot of people of color who want to sit and point fingers at white dudes and white people dont know what anything is like for white people especially the poor ones. Did you know I got a 1300 dollar tax return last year and this year I have to pay 5300 dollars? FUCKING TRUMP!!!!!!!! Sure I technically paid less in taxes this year but MY REFUND IS GONE AND I OWE!!!!!!!!!! That's the mentality of people today. I changed jobs in February and noticed a similar check from the year before had 150 or 200 bucks more in Fed tax deducted a week. Just figured I'd wait and see how much I'd owe.
That’s the thing, everybody these days is looking for someone to blame or some excuse and I don’t get it. Don’t get me wrong there are still a lot of good people who don’t do that shit out there but when you’re surrounded by dumb ass articles and twitter verified people who just spam dumb shit, it starts to feel like a lot. I mean that’s the reason nobody here talks about white racists. Nobody vouches for them. Everybody knows how fucked they are. Yet Shaun king can tweet some prettty racist shit about white people and it’s widely accepted. I just don’t get it. This shit is taught to our youth in high schools and colleges in major cities and nobody says a word which is why that’s a bigger problem to me.
I would correct that I feel a kinship to every race, religion, ethnicity and sexual orientation and consider them all my brethren. I say put yourself in someone else's shoes. Try to feel their pain. This what I learned in my church. Matthew 25:40 King James version - "And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." (my favorite Bible passage)
I'm going to do better this year. I don't really need to do better. I wish they would tax the wealthy more until they close the wealth disparity and do some good for the less fortunate. I would start with single payer health insurance and dental examinations and cleaning twice a year. Also, I'd do something about eye exams and eyeglasses. Then, I'd get shots for children and maternity care. This should all cost about the same as it costs now for less people. You'd pay more in taxes but get more from your employer because they wouldn't need to supply health insurance.
