Re: Which teams basically had a "last push" this year? Which teams do you think made their "last push" this year? A lot of people are saying New Jersey. This is a possibility if we decided to blow our team up. I don't want it to happen and I don't see it happening, hopefully. Another team I hear a lot if the Suns. I really don't get this one. If you take away the suspensions, we could be talking about the Suns being in the finals right now. But the main reason people are saying this is because Marion wants big money and the Suns don't want to give it to him. I still see them being a elite team next year though, Nash won't let them just fade away. One team that I think is at the end of their good run is possibly the Pistons. If they lose, Webber might retire or move on to another team. Billups might leave if something wrong happens there. Then your left with Rip,Prince and Rasheed. They are still a good three but the Pistons wont nearly be as good as they have been the last 5 years. Any other teams come to mind?
Re: Which teams basically had a "last push" this year? Not really..basically can only say it about NJ and probably Detroit, though as a Detroit fan I think we still have a few years..though I see why people would say that.
Re: Which teams basically had a "last push" this year? I think Miami is done. They got whatever gas was left in Shaq Diesel and now they have to suffer through the next 2 seasons of his contract. I don't think another team is in that bad of shape. You can make a case for New Jersey if you believe all the rumors being thrown around.
Re: Which teams basically had a "last push" this year? I think next year could very well be the last season we see shaq. Espically if they dont make a strong playoff push. Shaq did what he came to do in miami though and thats win a championship. If Miami would have played the Spurs though I dont see them holding that championship banner.

Re: Which teams basically had a "last push" this year? I say New Jersey. I can also understand why a lot of people think Detroit but I really don't think so. I don't think Chauncey will leave and these two picks I think will really help this bench out next season. Maxiell is getting better every single game, I wouldn't be surprised if he started along side Sheed next season and it seems like this team believes more into some of Flip's defensive schemes more than they did earlier in the year so maybe they'll get off to an better start next season.

Re: Which teams basically had a "last push" this year? how about the spurs? they're getting really old like the heat.ummmknicks, maybe? Its hard to make a last push when you dont even make the postseason in the east.

They'll still be a very competitive team next year. But New York? That makes absolutely no sense. They improved this year and they are still a relatively young team, I don't know why you'd say that.
Re: Which teams basically had a "last push" this year? I dont think they will overhaul, but I do think the Clips are going to make some big moves.

Their hands are tied. Eddy Curry is nothing to build a team around. They are a mess! Francis, marbury, richardson are just gonna keep getting older and isaiah wont be able to trade them because of their salaries/age/injuries. I really dont see them doing much for a long time. Maybe in 09/10 when they get rid of francis and marbury they can do something. Until then, I dont see them goin anywhere
Re: Which teams basically had a "last push" this year? I think it's the Pistons. They aren't getting any younger, and they are losing their edge. I still expect them to be contenders in the East, but I don't foresee anymore Finals appearences.
Re: Which teams basically had a "last push" this year? The Pistons biggest problem is Flip Sounders. Hes just not a good coach...hes hurt the Pistons with his lack of good coaching. If you want to blame anybody for LeBrons night, it has to be the coach for not making the adjustments. I can defiently see the Pistons firing Flip this off season and hiring a more proven coach.
Re: Which teams basically had a "last push" this year? Just read this..."If the Pistons lose this series, it will be the third time in the past five years that Flip Saunders coached a conference's top-seeded team, yet failed to make the NBA Finals."Ouch...

It means a team that is competitive now, but is on their last straw. They are due for a big fall. New York is a young team, how in the world can you say that have topped out? It makes no sense whatsoever.
Re: Which teams basically had a "last push" this year? I think New York is a young team, but some of their better players are older such as Crawford, Marbury, or Francis. I dont think the Knicks would want to trade Crawford at all cause hes been very good on and off the court for them. But if the Knicks get an opputunity to move Marbury or Francis, you will defiently see that.I dont know about the salaries or anything or how it would work out, just throwing this out there so dont take it seriously. What about a Laker-New York deal where Marbury gets sent to LA? Like I said, I have no idea what kindve cap Lakers can give away...but they have to have quite alot to get it done.EDIT: I just put together a trade at realGM, not sure to think of it, but it doesn't involve Odom or Bryant so it works out for the Lakers, and the Knicks get a non-needed Bynum..so this is probably not going to happen...but heres the ID: 3877381

Yes, they'd obviously move Marbury/Francis is the opportunity comes about, but saying that they have maxed out and are "done" is ridiculous, because they have a lot of young players. A young team can't max out, I just don't understand that at all. Eddy Curry, Channing Frye, David Lee, Renaldo Balkman, Jamal Crawford, Nate Robinson, Mardy Collins, Jared Jeffries, Randolph Morris, and Quentin Richardson are all in their 20's. This team has not maxed out and made their "last push."
Re: Which teams basically had a "last push" this year? I never said that, so I hoped the "maxed out" thing wasnt directed at me...I know New York has youth...and IMO good youth to build on. It really wouldnt suprise me to see the Knicks in the playoffs next season.btw, Crawford is only 27, but some would consider that a older player. But hes neither old or young in basketball terms. Hes probably in his prime.

Re: Which teams basically had a "last push" this year? Thats what im saying, New York probably wont trade him cause he is playing very well for them and ive personaly seen atleast 3 games hes won for them. But if NY goes the youth movement completely, dont be suprised to see Crawford traded for a younger player or maybe a pick...but I highly doubt it cause Crawford has really been a bright spot.Getting off-topic. No New York has no need to max out...and wont.
