http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-lakers...2&cset=trueDo it IMOLakers get a better scorer in Camby, and better defender. Then if they could get Jermaine still, that would be one hell of a post defense.
If you're a Lakers fan, I'm sure you'd like for them to do it. I know the Nuggets are trying to get rid of Marcus Camby to unload salary, but I can't imagine what in the hell would cause them to make that bad of a trade. To me, Camby is one of the best centers in the league. His defense was incredible this year, and he was a force to be reckoned with in the paint. Kwame Brown doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the same breathe as Marcus Camby.
In Lakerland, everything works eh but I've yet to see them pull off a good trade since the last Finals appeareance.
If the Nuggets make that trade, they're just throwing their season away. It's good for LA fans though.
I agree with all of you guys. As big a LA fan as I am I have to admit this trade would not help both teams at all unless you look at it as helping Denver gain more money but still it doesn't mean they will get better as a team on the court during the season unless they have something in mind for the draft or free agency for replacing that Center spot. But yeah I would love to have him in LA. Anything that will keep Kobe from leaving is ok with me lol

But I don't think they are, so they should just try and go for it all despite cap issues. Trading Camby for Kwame(whose expiring) helps cap but they get worst talent wise and I don't think it's enough for them to get under. So it's not really a win-win situation cap or talent. Don't get it for Denver.
maybe if the lakers give them another player with Kwame it might be ok Someone who doesn't make much and can still help. Don't ask me who cause I dont know much about the sallerys these players make.
I would absolutely love this. Obviously, there are going to other players in the deal if this went down, but this would be just great for the Lakers.
Oh my gosh, we would be title contenders again. You are f*cking retarded. Why would we trade Kobe to Dallas or Phoenix of all places, and if we did we would get Amare from Phoenix anyway. Besides, it's definitely not a lock that we are getting JO or Camby so any of those lineups are just speculation. If we trade Kobe to any team it will be to an eastern conference team.
Well I think Camby is a much better bball player, but isn't he much older then most guys in the NBA? I mean his defense is incredible, but will he last that long, if we trade for him?Like my man LakersFan247 said, why in the world would we trade him to phx or dallas? If we did, Amara Nash, or dirk and Howard would be involved in that trade, no doubt.
No way Denver trades Camby to the Lakers for ANYBODY (outside of maybe a package including Odom and/or Bynum... and of course #24). I know Denver is trying to reduce their payroll, but they would be stupid to trade Camby to a team within their own conference, especially a team that they will be competing with for a playoff spot. If Camby is traded, there are teams out there than can definitely give Denver a better trade than the Lakers can.I also agree with Rok... when they traded for AI, they obviously knew that they would be in a very, very, very rough spot payroll-wise, and the owner approved the Iverson trade. They made that trade in order to be contenders for the next few years (and possibly afterwards, depending on moves and AI's transition to a roll player), and now for them to turn around and look to dump payroll by sacrificing talent and their defensive anchor is pretty stupid... in terms of both basketball and business.

Marion is the player being shopped right now by the Suns, and he would be the best player the Lakers could get from them.I mean, it's not going to happen, but I just felt the need to say that.
hmmm...why would Denver do that? Marcus was just DPOY, and he gets the reebs too. I don't understand why they would trade him for an underachieving offensive stiff.
I seriously think the Lakers management just leaked this bit of info on purpose to get leverage. To let the Pacers know, they are not only talking to them.

That's what I have been reading on all the possible deals with the Suns. But seriously, Kobe will never be traded to The Suns...it doesn't matter.
Everything I've been reading on a Kobe to Phoenix deal revolves around Marion and Barbosa being traded, and not Amare...But like you said, any Lakers/PHX deal is unlikely.
I could see the Lakers unloading Kwame Brown and the 19th or future 1st for Camby. Then come back with a Farmar and Walton to the Kings for ArtestForget JO, you can keep LO and Bynum.CambyOdomArtestKobeMLE?That would contend in the West. Anything is possible with Kobe. The defense would improve, even offense would too.
