This would be one of the best deals the lakers have ever made if they could get camby for Kwame+fillers that easily.
I don't understand this from the Nuggets point of view. They have great power forwards as it is and Camby is there primary center. Kwame can play center but he's nowhere near a Marcus Camby. This is a strange trade rumor.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Camby has too big of a salary so we might have to get rid of him.</div>Camby still has four years and $30 MIL left on his contract while Kwame has two years and $15 MIL left. I'd like to the Celts go after camby. Maybe Theo Ratliff/Delonte/Scalabrine for Camby/Denver role player. A lot better than Kwame freakin Brown.
No. We already have a player to drop passes in the paint, miss layups and continuously get called for 3-second violations. His name is Reggie Evans, and we don't need another one.
So GoldRush, you want a dumb, injured, overrated, overpaid draft bust instead? Also, Theo is just in there to make the money work in my trade idea. Delonte West would fit in great with A.I. and Melo in Denver. He's a great outside shooter (something you guys need/want), he can play the 1,2 although he really isn't a 1 but he can play the play position, he also plays good D and rebounds well for his size, and he's a guy that can run the floor well.

We don't want Kwame, no matter how large that expiring contract is.As for the trade you suggested, I think it's a lot better but I'd still rather keep Camby. I'd love to have Delonte and I think he'd be a great fit here but I don't think it's enough. If we could give Reggie Evans (or Najera) and get back Perkins and maybe that #32 pick I think you'd have a deal.

Sure he is an outstanding rebounder (probably a top 10 in the NBA), but the problem is he would get the rebound and then throw it away or get it stolen. Whenever he touched the ball he would drop it it seemed like.
The Nuggets were reported laughed at the deal when the Lakers called. Denver never even considered it from what I gathered. And good thing they are not stupid. Our gm Billy King here in Philly would probably agree to something like that, and add a first also. LOL

Kwame is no all star but he is a good player who does is part really well when he's 100%. At first I didn't like him especially back when he played in Washington DC(Where I live) But he's really developed well on the defensive end of the floor since playing with LA and has earned alot of respect from me. Who knows Maybe Geroge Karl is just the coach to get Kwame to that next step nobody knows.
