You're probably skinny next to me. I've put on 45 lbs. since I was at my physical peak.

I have been around professional athletes here and there and she's the craziest I have ever seen, it is intense everything we do with my inlaws ends up being scheduled around when she's going to be our running that day... Anyways, stretching is crazy important I found that out by tearing my calf muscle when running having not stretched before... If I make it to 90 I will probably still be trying to throw a basketball into a hoop, heh.

What a coincidence, my pecker thinks it's 30 but my body says I'm more like 90.

The old saying is eat to live but don't live to eat.
I use to work out excessively and constantly had nagging little injuries, I backed off a little and got into dynamite shape with no injuries.

You are so right. I also find a particular diet rich in vegetables (especially greens) and less meat helped my body incredibly in so many ways. I highly recommend that for any person wanting to lose weight and still enjoy eating food other than meat.

Fiber is also incredibly important for any person wanting to lose weight.

I use to eat a lot of soluble fiber and let's just say the room had a different aroma when I was in it. I quit eating all that type of fiber and my friends returned and thank God for their short memories.

Haha. Well, I needed the fiber for my digestive issues, but it also helped me lose unwanted weight years ago while making my stomach believe it was full.

I got up to 235-240 lbs when I was in my late 40's and pumping iron a lot. When I got in my mid to late 50's I got over 260 lbs though after I stopped lifting. I'm 6-1 and 61 now and I'm down to 223 lbs. I'd like to drop about 10 lbs more, but we'll see. I feel pretty good now and just watch what I eat and get outdoors a lot.

I'm two inches shorter and weigh the same. Of course, my kidneys no longer work and I can't do anything physical at all. It's really hard to take 'cause I love to exercise for many reasons. Believe it or not, I use to love flexing in front of a mirror. Now, I break mirrors. Geez, I'd give anything to get back in shape the way I was when I was 53.

Never could get into jogging or running but my knees are still shot. Was a catcher playing baseball for all of my youth. My meniscus is non-existent at this point. I'm only 30, but my knee clicks with every step I take. Surgery is still expensive as hell.

True, but it's easier to add a lot of fat than it is to add a lot of muscle. That's what I did when I stopped lifting.

I'm doing pretty good now though. It's good that I didn't throw away some of my pants from when I was thinner though!

So I've cut out pizza to save money for gas for road trips instead. Not entirely; I've still got one free coupon, but then that's it for me. No more Pizza Hut for the foreseeable future.

That's going to help tremendously. I was having, sometimes, 3 pizzas a week. Not healthy at all. Cross fingers.

I haven't really tried to lose this year. Got the flu New Year's day and was overwhelmingly busy at work. Just too tired to care.

After the successful bike ride yesterday I'm looking forward a bit. We'll see how it goes.

You can expect to get real sore before you feel better.
Of course, you can avoid all the soreness and injuries and any discomfort if you just avoid the gym and head for the donut shop and get a donut and a cup of coffee. Hey, I feel the need for a donut right now.
