You're in LA......those are the parents of child actors...they want the kids to know the dialogue when it becomes the movie of the week so they can get the part....getting Baron's role will be a tough field..it's all about who can pretend the best
Mueller is a top notch attorney. They also had a federal judge's approval to do so. I might add that this raid was sanctioned by the deputy Attorney General of the United States government. No, I think the issue of whether they had the authority to do so is firmly settled.
I get that that is what you think. My thought, based on how I have seen the legal system work, is that, if this goes to court, Mr Trump’s attorneys will have a different take on the matter and that it won’t be “firmly settled” until the Supreme Court has ruled on it.
The U.S. Supreme Court relies heavily on what the lower federal courts ruled. Anyhow, like I said, Trump's lawyers would be bucking a federal judge whose job is to approve or disapprove of search warrants plue the deputy Attorney General. Gonna be tough for Trump's lawyers to win that one. I'd say so tough that it's gonna be damn near impossible. Also, Trump's lawyers don't have a good track record of winning cases outside the deep South.
Ha! In a world where Bill Clinton argued that a BJ wasn't sex and parsed his answers based on "what the definition of "is" is" and managed to avoid being impeached for lying to Congress, I think we can assume that this issue is far from settled. Getting one judge to issue a search warrant does not constitute legal precedent.
I'm not sure what the basis would be to challenge the search. Recall that everything they seized went through a special master who decided whether there was any attorney-client privileged materials (and Trump/Cohen were allowed to weigh in on that). So attorney-client privilege probably doesn't win the day. So they'd have to show there was no probable cause to do the search in the first place, and I'm not even sure Trump would have standing to challenge that at all (it wasn't his stuff, it was Cohen's), much less successfully. barfo
