Um yes, they've done it every year man, why would this one be any different? They're more screwed if Durant leaves and Thompson stays or vice versa because then they would be capped out without a great way to replace the one who left.

LA had a house and children/wife out there. He also has grand business interests and possibilities that worked well with LA.

Neither of those will apply to anyone else.

How have they done since Kobe retired? Nothing.

LA is a destination? Yet Kanter chose us over them.

Curry got a supermax. Dray is on a 5-year near-max. KD and Klay can be maxed this summer.

I suspect they won't max Draymond next summer.

If it’s a destination, why won’t anybody else sign there? Aldridge even turned them down. Nobody wanted to play with Kobe and no one wants to play with LeBron.

So the plan was to waste LeBron’s 16th season and miss the playoffs?

I think the plan was to put a bunch of one year contracts around him while he gets alcamated and a year to see who on the roster should be part of the big picture, clean house of the rest and go shopping this off season in fa and trades.
I believe next years lakers roster will have a substancial overhaul by tip off of the regular season.

This is what was said when the season started. get Lebron throw shit up against the walls and see who sticks and go after people in FA next year because you have Kwhai, Klay, Durant Butler ,AD I predict 2 will go to the Lakers

They’d be lucky to get 1. Kawhi doesn’t want to play with LeBron. Klay said he’s resigning with Warriors, Durant is going to NYC, Pelicans aren’t interested in trading AD to Lakers. So we’re left with Butler. That ain’t enough to get Lakers a title in next three years.

Is that a Barack Obama joke? I heard he was pretty good, but not that good.

The only thing I can say is that we will see. I think star players will want to play with him but again we'll just have to wait and see.
