Are the 2007 Cavs similar to the 2001 Sixers?

I think they're very similar. They both have their extremely talented scorers in LeBron and AI. They both have their perimeter defense/point guard in Hughes and McKie. They both have their offensive rebounding guys in Gooden and Hill. They have a lot of similar pieces. The only difference is that Cleveland actually have some guys that score, such as Gibson and Pavlovic. The 2001 Sixers literally had no offense other than Iverson, after him their next leading scorer was Mutumbo at 11 ppg. What do you guys think?

And both of them will have been dismantled by a dynasty coming out of the west.

Only time will tell if the result is the same.

They are somewhat similar, but not really too similar. In 2001, if we didn't stop people, we wouldn't win... period. They were head and shoulders above this Cleveland squad defensively. The Cavs are a MUCH better offensive team than we were back in '01, because LeBron at least has some offensive options around him (Hughes, Big Z, Gooden, Gibson, Pavlovic), whereas AI had nobody other than Mutombo down low (who got most of his points off put backs) and McKie hitting jumpers. Plus Larry Brown is a hell of a lot better than Mike Brown. We just REALLY overachieved because of AI and LB being the defensive genius he is... he squeezed every last ounce of effort out of our squad that season. And honestly, if we hadn't played the Lakers in '01 and if Lynch wasn't out the entire Finals, I think we probably would have won a title... but oh well.Either way, Cavs will lose this year too... so I guess that is another similarity.
