<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Yi Jianlian games have begun. Yi is foregoing the physical-only portion of the camp -- the first time I remember seeing that move by a player.Yi is not injured and he's not in China. He's pulling out to maintain control of the process. Both his agent, Dan Fegan, and the Chinese government want to make sure Yi lands on the "right" team. So Yi will work out for only a few select teams.Yi's Orlando maneuver means that the other teams in the league won't even have the results of a physical to look at, which might further discourage them from draft Yi.Don't be shocked if Golden State or Chicago finds a way to move up and grab Yi. They seem to be the two "approved" teams most interested.</div>straight from ESPN INSIDERI know its only 1 sentence but I feel like chicago will honestly draft him
Chicago would draft him if he falls to 9, sure, but there's a very good chance he gets taken in the top 5. Even then, Charlotte would also more than likely nab him at 8, if available. If Chicago wants him then they will need to trade up, and Golden State obviously would as well. Golden State would likely have to give up too much to move into the top 10. Yi is drawing a TON of interest. It will be very interesting to see where he goes.
Yi Jianlian is the biggest question mark in this draft....especially for fans since they have never seen him play. I really don't know what to think about him.
I know I said this before in another thread but I just think the Bulls will get him one way or another. John Paxson is dead serious about him because he went to China to watch him play in some games. I think from what I've read, I would rank Yi as the best international prospect and maybe 3rd best overall behind oden and durant. He has alot of experience and yet hes so young right now (stating the obvious, but makes my point). From watching his youtube videos, he seems really athletic [more than yao]. Yao compared yi jianlian to amare stoudemire even though I dont think hes that great yet but that has to tell you something.

Amare is a man-child. Yi is probably the Chinese Amare, which is about 40 lbs. lighter.
Haha in ESPN the magazine I read a article where somebody called him the asian Stro. Sortve like Asian Amare...just ALOT...<u>ALOT</u> worse.
Am I the only person who thinks chinee boy is going to be a bust? I just dont think he has that much passion for the game or can be a successful jump shooting big man without SOME strength. Also he is used to being more athletic than players in China now he is in the NBA and ALOT of players are more athletic than him. IMO he ends up like A Vlad Rad
I dont think hes absolutley a bust or a star. Ive only seen like a 10 minutes piece of video on him and he looked pretty good. But international players are hit-and-misses. You never know until they actually get into the NBA.
For those who haven't seen Yi's skills in China, here are a few highlight vids. He reminds me more of Kevin Garnett than Amare Stoudemire, but I'm still skeptical because highlights only show the best plays of course (even though he had quite a few and made Sportscenter Top 10).http://youtube.com/watch?v=Jqd2mEFAZSIhttp://youtube.com/watch?v=WAan4mo1U9Qhttp://youtube.com/watch?v=kRaXgRlEJkUhttp://youtube.com/watch?v=KyADXpenxzU
I certainly think this guy has a chance to be good. Not as an All-Star, but a good player to have on your team. If anythink ESPN ranks him the third best player in the draft due to his skills. :dribble:

I don't think drafting Yi is the best thing for the Bulls. Evidently, the Bulls need a reliable offensive threat in the post and Yi could do that, but I think he'll be more of a project. These Asian big men take a while to adjust to the athleticism of the NBA's post players and the Bulls need someone who can be a threat quickly before these young guys' contracts get out of hand. The youngsters are ready for the next level, they just need a readied big man.

I've only seen him on youtube but wow a 7 footer who can move as quick as him has gotta be something. He doesn't look like a bust at all just from the way he plays, very athletic. Like a giant Ninja basketball player or something. Yao on the other hand is just a big branch. Im not sure I would take him with the 9th pick if I were the bulls BUT if they are really sold on him he must be good. The Bulls always have a history of bringing in great foreign players(kukoc, gugliotta, nocioni, deng, etc.)
