Game Thread GAME# 65: THUNDER @ BLAZERS - MARCH 7, 2019 - THURSDAY, 7:30 PM, TNT

Paul George misses games in that streak and why does them losing recently mean they’re going to play badly against us. Obviously, they were going to play their best to get back on track on National TV.

 

We beat them twice this season and twice last season. Did those teams do that? Did ANY team do that?

 

Had a triple double when Dame sat. He can pass but his role is different when Dame plays.

 

His role doesn't mean he's not supposed to make the right pass though.

 

Nobody is saying that King. Simply that the way we play in close games is cause for concern.

 

Really hard to get a shot up. Dame/CJ scored 76 points. If that happens in playoffs, we’ll win more than we lose.

 

You mean we can play well in close losses?

 

We were down 7 in 4th last night and rallied to force OT.

 

Huh? I'm talking about the way we play under 5 minutes in close games. Our offense gets very basic and is literally top pick n roll every time down the court, which is usually shut down because defenses see it coming, so then we resort to iso-ball. Nurkic isn't involved, and the ball doesn't move at all. Sometimes it works because Dame or C.J. hit very tough shot, but it's not conducive to consistent success, especially in the postseason.

 

Down 7 with like 10 minutes left.

 

No margin of error?? We’re behind one game and have the tiebreaker vs Houston.

 

We were 3 or 4 games BEHIND OKC and now we are only 1 game behind. We are gaining ground in the big picture.

 

Kelly Oubre Jr is better than Giannis. Cuz well, the Suns won.

 

I really prefer my take to be "the west is a fucking beast and really nobody gets a cream puff ride to the playoffs here"

 

I'd rather have Dame than WB, but come on using last night's game to say one has passed the other especially when the one LOST. No one was talking about Kelly Oubre Jr who's a role player and Giannis, that's called a strawman and you know it.

edit: also I think Dame would even say none of those points matter without the win. Dame's awesome, and I'm glad he's a Blazer. Just don't agree that last night proved Dames better.

 

Both are true. They are the best record in the West....are far behind what they have been in the past.

 

And if we didn't blow the last 2 games we'd be 2 games up on OKC and all alone in 3rd just 2 games behind Denver (and we play them twice). We threw away a golden opportunity by playing stupidly.

 

Far behind? They only won 59 games last year.

 

There are still 17 more golden opportunities. I bet we get 2 seed if we win them all.

 

What about the year before that?
