Eugene has the largest % of homeless per population in the country I read somewhere...California as a state is number one but Oregon is number two I believe..toilet joke coming
Canby is the same. I'm soo much more at peace now in this small town caring type of community. Central East Side of Portland really dragged me down. Sorry @PtldPlatypus not sure how you do it over there anymore. No food carts, but we have many summertime events damn near walking distance from my house.
I wonder if we are starting to see another round of white flight to the exurbs, only this time to escape homeless people instead of black people. Would be disappointing, after spending so much money and energy rebuilding the inner cities the last 30 years or so. barfo
I’m not sure how the ‘burbs could get much whiter than they already are......unless of course the homeless white people move there.......
20 some years ago I lived just over the river in Wilsonville near the park and library and went to Canby to the auto auction when I needed a van...it's like a lot of small towns in Western Lane County..used to love those tennis courts in the Wilsonville park because you could always find an open one...which is harder and harder to do these days
This is utter bullshit. Where do you conservatives get this shit from?? It's just like y'all think conservatives are fiscally sound...
I was playing devils advocate for those who say all republicans are racist. Or if you voted forctrump tou are racist. Same thing, just reverse. But the key, is if im being serius, is socialists. Not libs. Socialists are thecones that want everything handed to them.
Bribed.... That's just stupid. Right. The conservatives that run their districts are constantly voting against things that would help them.
Serious question: Do you know any socialists? Do you talk to them regularly about their wants and needs?
Google and the internet are my best friend. But its the basic definition of socialism i dont agree with because it enables laziness and lack of responsibility. Im all for helping those who arent able to help them selves but there is s fine line between wont and cant. Many who wont, say they cant when they can. So instead they want someone else to do things for them. Im against universal health care, as we have discussed my reasons in the past. Im also against the current welfare system.
Seriously though the definition of liberalism has almost taken a 180* turn since the days of Lincoln.
You've accepted neo conservative definition and are completely wrong. The military it the most socialist entity on the planet. The military will pay my back child support.... You don't know what socialism is. I'm a socialist OB. Most months during basketball season I work 7 days a week. So since I want a social floor I'm lazy? If you want to know what socialists want, you should take the time and speak to some instead of telling them and being wrong about it.
Frankly, I don't think you know the definition. And I'm not trying to be rude. It's amazing to me how conservatives act like they know what people want when they don't ever talk to them... Stop googling shit and find some friends that don't share the same political view as you.
No snark, if you could expound on this a bit I'd be fascinated. I couldn't disagree more, but since I don't think you're an idiot, I'm wondering where you're coming from.
I said i was playing devils advocate on that. There are hard working people on all spectrums of life. universal anything i dont agree with and i never said i agree with our current military stance either. Universal anything leaves no room for individual circumstance. It enables those who want to be lazy and forces those who are more independant to help support those that aren't. There is a definition for socialism. Why do i need one persons view to understand the definition and type of government it entails when i can read up on it and get the true definition without any personal influence from an individual? There is more than one type of conservative and there is more than one type of socialist for sure, but the definition of each still has the foundation the parties were comstructed upon.
