detnews.com"What is perhaps more plausible would be taking a run a Phoenix's Shawn Marion. Marion, who would give the Pistons' front court the quickness and athleticism it lacks, has two years and $33.5 million left. The Pistons would have to offer Wallace and another player (Johnson?) to pique the Suns' interest. All of that is speculation at this point, obviously. But it seems the Pistons are back to where this all started in 2002. In the absence of one true superstar player, you have to have a roster full of really good players who play well together."I would take that. While Marion is a better overall player, Wallace would be better during the playoffs when it really matters. It would give us a little boost for a final championship run by helping our interior D. Johnson would be a nice addition maybe if D'Antoni learns to use his bench.

I wouldn't take that. I'm sure if the Suns are going to shift Marion there are better deals out there. Rasheed would be a downgrade and he is older.

I'd rather get someone who knows how to win in the playoffs, can make jumpshots and has a good interior game. I don't think this deal would get done with D'Antoni as coach though. It's a downgrade in the regular season, but an upgrade in the playoffs because of how he can play. Marion's here for defense and it's not like he made much of a difference against Tony Parker this year. He still got easy buckets because with Amare not wanting to get in foul trouble, the interior D was very weak. Rasheed is older, but we only need him for this year. If he can help win a championship who cares if he sucks after that? We'd get a nice young player in that trade too. I'd like a line-up of Nash-Barbosa-Bell-Amare-Rasheed as long as we improve the bench and D'Antoni learns how to use it properly.

Its not like Rasheed is a dominant playoff player, he is actually fairly average. I don't see any upgrade for the Suns wih this trade.I would much rather try something with Boston for the #5 or with Charlotte for Wallace (sign & trade). Also, Marion might be on a big contract but lets not go over the top, its not Kobe like in any way.

Marion is an all around player, but I don't think he has a specific area were he is really dominent. If there is it would be on the defensive side, I don't think the Pistons are looking to get a defensive player.

I'm not sure if either team would be all that interested. Wallace is the only true post player on Detroit's roster and is their emotional leader just like Raja Bell is with the Suns. For Phoenix I don't think they would be all that interested in having the two most tech friendly players on the roster and they would lose a lot on rebounding from going from Marion to Wallace.
