Chelsea Manning, an anti-secrecy activist and former U.S. Army intelligence analyst whose release of classified information to WikiLeaks in 2010 sparked worldwide controversy over transparency in the military and whistleblower protections, was taken into custody at a federal court on Friday after a federal judge found her in contempt of court for refusing to answer questions before a secret grand jury. In late January, Manning was subpoenaed to testify before a federal grand jury in a sealed case out of the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Virginia -- the same district in which the government recently inadvertently revealed the existence of a sealed indictment against WikiLeaks publisher Julian Assange. On Friday, after refusing to answer the grand jury’s questions, U.S. District Judge Claude Hilton found Manning in contempt of court and ordered her to be held in jail until she decides to testify or until the grand jury concludes its work -- which could be up to 18 months, a lawyer for Manning said. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/che...g-testify-secret-grand-jury/story?id=61556616
If you see something, say something! *Unless you see the government do something, we’ll put you in a cage if you say something.
One is a fun slogan at the airport. One violates a law written and enforced to protect people who put their lives on the line every day to help ensure your right to call them warmongers.
Her 7 years in prison is a far greater sacrifice than 99.99% of your heroes will ever make. And now she voluntarily returns to prison, when she could have easily avoided it by narcing on the good guys. This is the greatest hero of our time.
It’s a law written and enforced by warmongers to ensure their right to keep dropping bombs on people and stealing their resources. Remind me which politicians are putting their lives on the line again? Lol. The same ones who send other people’s children to die fighting wars for special interests, maybe? I almost spit my coffee out when I read that.
You point out how you’ve received Ill-gotten Afghan resources and I’ll shut up for the rest of this thread. If you can’t, maybe you could do the same.
The prices have dropped at my local opium den, so I assume that you guys are doing good work securing the supply. barfo
That’s the thing! We basically gave up on Helmand, so we can’t even claim that anymore! Thank your friendly local Iranian importer-exporter for that!
