I have proof you are incorrect on this. Or at least one instance anyhow that i wont discuss online but would discuss in person, but you are wrong. I know an illegal immigrant who was somehow able to vote.
Meh. Sorry. White people need to stop doing that. For you to not say that very same sentence means that you can look at them doing it and let it slide because it doesn't effect you. Well, I don't have that privilege.
Saying it doesn't make it true. I swear.. Just like the Green New Deal is gonna take away your cows... Really?? Do tell....
Wrong. The difference between you and i is you still see race and i dont. I dont give a fuck if its a white making fun of a black or an asian making fun of an eskimo. Its all wrong. Yet you wont see me saying blacks need to do this or asians need to do that, any more than you will see me saying republicans need to do this or dems need to do that. Their is too much diversity within any race/ party anymore aNd everything should be circumstantial and situational. Not encompassing aNd enveloping.
Anytime in person. You dont need to beleive me but i know it has happened. Might have been an anomally but i beleive if this person skated the system, then so can others.
Sorry but you don't get to do this. You don't get to tell me how YOU see me. This is another thing white people need to stop saying. "I don't see color" Stop...
Huh. Did you mistype? I could see you saying i dont get to say how you are but i can certainly say what i see or how i see things. I stand by my premise nad its based on your posting history. I cAn absolutely say i dont see color. I cant say others dont but thsts pretty fucked uo thst you are saying i cant say i dont see color. Thats really fucked up. Seriously. Just because your black you think you have the right to tell me i cant say i dont see color? Again ill turn the tables. You aRe black. You know black hostory. Not white. You dont get to say white people anything. You havent lived our lifestyle. Only observed it from a disrancexso you dont getcto say white anything. Cause you odnt really know. You aRe better than this D. You know there are white people that dont see color aNd you know there are people of color who are racist. Why you take this ultimatum stance blows my mind because it doesnt help anything. It just comtinues racism.
As long as anyone tells any sect or race they cAnt do something or say something, we are just perpetuating racial tensions. In order to disolve these tensions, we must break the chains that have been shackling our selves. This means we must break away from these, “ you dont get to and you cant do this because you are so and so” statements. Until we rid ourselves of these stipulations, we will not find a true equality.
Why I Hate The Phrase "I don't see color" I hear people say, "I don't see color" or "I don't care if you're pink or green" or "color shouldn't matter, we are all one race". Ugh. These are all sentences that really don't mean anything, just one of those things people say because it sounds good. We all know that color shouldn't matter but it does. In America it most certainly does and acting like you don't see the color of someone standing in front of you is ridiculous. You are engaging in denial if you think you don't see color. Please stop it. I think this phrase hides the underlining truth in America that no one seems to really be able to discuss...racism. Racism is alive and thriving in our country and you saying that you don't see color really doesn't help. I know you think it does, but it doesn't. Why? Because unless you are blind or have something wrong with your eyes, you most definitely see color. You see the varying hues of skin that are living in this vast country, you HAVE to see the differences in the shape of our eyes, noses, and lips. You see the different textures of hair that grow out of the heads of those that don't look like you. Why would you not want to see all of that variety? Somehow in America it has become bad to see color. It is now acceptable for someone to tell me, "I don't see color." Well, I'm Black and I want you to see me. I want you to notice the rich brownness of my skin and how when the sun hits it I glow. I want you to see that my color extends from the top of my head to the top of my feet. I want you to appreciate this color I so proudly wear that was handed down to me by my ancestors that survived the Middle Passage, then survived the atrocities of slavery that our country never wants to really discuss. I want you to admire the way my skin turns a reddish hue of mahogany when it is exposed to the Caribbean rays of sunlight. I want you to see all of that and understand that even though it is different than you, it is equal. And when I am not treated equally I want you to understand my frustration. It is a fact that I am sometimes treated differently because of my skin tone. I live in America and it's a reality I have been shown from infancy so when I tell you this I want you to understand. I am accustomed to it and I live with it. I want you to see that when that happens it isn't me playing the race card, but it's a fact that I deal with on a daily basis. I want you to understand that wanting you to see my color and appreciate it doesn't mean I want you to ask me ridiculous questions about my race. When you say to me, "I don't see color." that proves to me that you and I live in completely different realms of reality because while living in America I can never not see color because I am constantly reminded of mine. Tell me this, if you were walking down the street and saw a Black man with a hoodie on with his hands in his pockets walking toward you, you really think you wouldn't notice his color? If your child was going on a date and you saw that the date was Black, you mean to tell me you wouldn't notice that fact? Come on now, of course you would. Maybe you are one of those people that really wouldn't mind. Maybe you truly believe that you absolutely don't care about the color of someone's skin. But answer me this, how many people of a different color have been to your house to eat? How many times have you broken bread in the home of a person of color? When you reach for the phone to call one of your dearest friends, are any of them a different hue than you? If traveling has taught me anything, it has shown me that variety is lovely. When I was in Senegal I saw the lack of variety in the shades of blackness. When I was in Egypt I noticed how northern Egyptians were much lighter than southern Egyptians. When I was in Sweden I noticed the beauty of the women as they walked down the street and how their skin looked nothing like mine. How can you not notice all of the colors in the pictures in this post? When I was in Russia how could I not see that I was the only Black person for miles? How could I not notice all of these things? Does the fact that I took note of the differences mean I'm racist? Of course not. It means I am normal and I definitely see color. I just don't let it influence who I am friends with, where I travel, or who I choose to love. A friend of mine was upset because her son said to her, "Mommy, what is the Brown man doing?" She thought that was offensive. The little boy saw a police officer standing with another officer and the only way he could distinguish between the two was his color. What is wrong with that? Why did my friend feel like her son said something offensive? If a child sees color, why do we have to act like we don't? Saying you don't see color stops us from having discussions that really matter. It stops us from being able to talk to one another about how difficult it can be to live in this country. When you tell me you don't see my color, you are basically telling me that you don't see a huge part of who I am and that doesn't help me. What I want you to say is, "I see your color. And it's beautiful."
Your problem is you think everything has this flip side to it. It doesn't. You're literally defending white people wearing black face by telling me I can't "generalize" and tell white people to stop. And you don't seem to understand how that doesn't make sense... There is no flip side to that...
Okay i get it and see what you are saying, but you aRe taking it literal. Of course everyone but the blind see color, but the statement means that when judging a person, it comes from within aNd not the from the color of thier skin. Do you think i judge people by the color of thier skin ir do you think i judge them by the substance and depth of thier personality and behavior? Do you think my fondness of you has to do with your color or the fact that you speak your mind, are a terrific father and seem to be a geniunely good man who wants good things for all?
Im not defending anyone D. Do i think its terrible for people to do that? Not really, as i think there are more direct issues at hand that deserve more attention, but is it wrong? Absolutely. In todays day and age, as much as we should all be one to make fun and joke without any personal feelings getting shifted, we must acknowledge the feelings of any individual who has felt oppression from others and what they find offensive. But it still doesnt change that fact that generalizing is generalizing. The country IS better now racially than it was pre 60’s Nd to isolate the remaining sects we must use snipers, not blanket bombs aNd verbal warefare is the same thing. There is a large sect of white people that dont know slavery or 3/5ths of human crap and Re ambivolous to history because it wasnt us. Our ancestors fucked up and we acknowledge that, but we can only do what we can do within our own surroundings aNd when we get lumped in with the few left that are racially fucked in the head, you lose support.
This is good advice. My new best friend (work friend) is a 21 year old lesbian sjw type. We have amazing conversations. She is also studying psychology so she knows a lot of terms I find interesting. She recently showed me a picture of a girl she liked on same dating site. She was a cute young black girl who is into cosplay I think it is and is a pansexual. The other day I told her I was going to trigger her randomly to toughen her up. She gets sooooooo angry when social issues are discussed. I told her I was going to do this to help her keep calm because she knows stuff but gets mad and loses her train of thought.
>> No more black face? Ok, that was easy. >>> Now this is different. I can't remember saying it, but I don't see why I can't? What is with these edicts?
He is my President and yours as long as your a citizen here. I didn't vote for the guy just like I didn't vote for Bill Clinton second time around, but he was still my President. There are those in congress that are nut jobs, but I still consider them congressmen or congresswomen.
