<span style="font-size:18pt;line-height:100%"><div align="center">Trade Scenario - Indiana Pacers/Boston Celtics</div></span><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%"><div align="center">By Pacers fan forever</div></span><div align="center">The Indiana Pacers find themselves in one of the worst situations in the NBA: entering the off-season with a mediocre team, no draft picks, and very few tradable pieces. This is an uncharacteristic Pacers team. For the past two decades the Pacers were known for their classy players and ability to beat much more talented teams (such as Chicago and New York). Since the hiring of Larry Bird into the front office, and the retirement of legendary Pacer Reggie Miller, the franchise has found itself sliding downhill. There was hope, mind you, the Pacers finished with a 61-21 record (best in the league) in the 2003-04 season and made it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals where they were beat by the eventual champs, the Detroit Pistons. The next year the Pacers were off to a roaring start, led by established all stars Ron Artest and Jermaine O'neal, when the infamous Pacers-Pistons brawl took place. Ron Artest was suspended for the rest of the season and playoffs, Stephen Jackson was suspended for 30 games, and Jermaine O'neal was suspended for 15 games. Not only did this damage the reputation of the one of the classiest NBA teams, but it also led to a series of off-court problems which caused the downfall of the Pacers, starting with Ron Artest's public trade demand. Now the Pacers find themselves with only one star player from that glorious 2003-04 season: Jermaine O'neal. Al Harrington, Stephen Jackson, and Ron Artest have all been traded. Off court issues and injuries have torched poin guard Jamaal Tinsley. Head coach Rick Carlilse was fired after 4 up-and-down seasons as head coach. Jim O'Brien was hired as his replacement. The Pacers find themselves in a very difficult situation. That does not mean all hope is lost, however. The best plan would be to trade veteran Jermaine O'neal and start the process of rebuilding. Here is the best option for the Pacers to help rejuvenate themselves as one of the elite teams in the NBA:Pacers trade: Jermaine O?neal ($18,084,000) Jamaal Tinsley ($5,850,000) and 2nd round pick (2008)Celtics trade: Gerald Green ($1,347,000) Sebastian Telfair ($1,793,160) Theo Ratliff ($11,666,666) Wally Szczerbiak ($11,775,000) and #5 pick (2007)Why? The Pacers dump Jamaal Tinsley (a trouble player) and Jermaine O'neal and in exchange get two expiring contracts (Theo Ratliff and Wally Szczerbiak), a young point guard (Sebastian Telfair) with a lot of potential, and two almost guarenteed future all stars in Gerald Green and the draft pick. The Celtics recieve a regular all star in Jermaine O'neak to pair with superstar Paul Pierce. The Celtics also recieve Jamaal Tinsley, who may do wonders with a new start.<div align='center'>Jermaine O'neal, a premier all-star, has said that he wants to be traded if the Pacers were to go into rebuild mode</div>This trade is a win-win situation for both teams. Boston becomes instant contenders, while Indiana has the oppurtunity to rebuild into a future contender. If this trade scenario were to come across Danny Ainge or Larry Bird's desk it would be dangerous to pass it up. It will be interesting to see where this off-season take us. Stay tuned!</div>
Although it won't happen, it's a good deal. Right now, the Celtics are wasting Paul Pierce, and this would give them a big man running mate for PP and make the Celtics automatic contenders in the East, while the Pacers get good rebuilding pieces.
Pacers were known for classy players. Especially Reggie Miller. (Spike Lee??)I am not so sure that Boston would want Tinsley (Just like Rondo, more injury prone), and I thought that Sebastian Telfair was all ready released. I may be wrong about Telfair though. That fifth pick may turn out to be Brandan Wright. Imagine how scary that would be. It could be Conley too.
There is no way we take on Jamaal Tinsley. We have a STRICT no-gun policy, Tinsley has also been caught with weed, and to top it all off - he can't clap his hands without going down with a 3 week injury. He's a nice player, but we don't need his baggage. I don't think Indiana would take on Wally's contract either. Imagine them having Wally, Dunleavy, and Murphy? All 3 of them ridiculously overpaid white guys. Eeek. Also, I'd be very reluctant to give up Green and #5 for Jermaine. While Jermaine is one hell of a player, and I would love to have him, but giving up 2 young pieces that could both end up being stars... I don't know about that. Theo, West, Telfair, Gomes, #5, and a filler (future protected pick?) for Jermaine is likely as far as I'd go.

You're not that deep.

I'm sure a lot of them own a gun, but the fact that Tinsley takes a loaded one with him to clubs at 3 a.m. (with weed in the car, mind you) is a little different. 2. bullsh**. He smokes weed, he carries guns, and he's a walking injury. Bad influence, not reliable on the court = no thanks. 3. When healthy, Wally plays 30+ a night.
