I've believed for quite some time many of CJ's points could be fairly easily replaced and that his greatest value to this team is what we could get in a trade to strengthen other areas of greater need.

Fine, I don't want to turn this into a CJ trade/bash thread, but it's not really THAT easy to find a guy who can do what Seth is doing.

Nothing in my post implied anything about 'bashing' CJ. He is a very good scorer but small guard scorer's are not THAT rare. He is certainly one of the better ones but if you can get anywhere close to reproducing his offensive production, his value to the team might be best providing an upgrade in the front court.

Yeah he is certainly increasing his value as a FA. And after playing for a minimal amount so far in his career he will be looking to get as much as he can next year. From anyone......

So who do you offer our mid level exception too? Curry, Hood, or Kanter. Or will they all be offered more?

wait for playoffs to finish to decide. Also want to see if any other moves will be made in the offseason (CJ trade, etc). These decisions are all lower priority.

I think it zhies, once he was healthy, the team was under utilizing him.

He's hit more shots and played with more confidence.

Felt like he was deferring a lot earlier in the season or passing up shots. Seth is a gunner, and with CJ out he probably got the green light to just put up shots.

5 games is a small sample size though. I want to see him play well in the playoffs. Either way, he's probably not here next year so it doesn't really matter. If Seth players REALLY well, it would be interesting if we trade CJ for something and then try to pay Seth. I think he could start next to Dame. Honestly, he plays better defense than both Dame and CJ.

I'm still skeptical though. Of his double digit games this season, only three have been against opponents with winning records, and he's barely cracked double digits in those games.

All his 20 point games have come against crap teams.

If he was Rodney's height, I'd throw 12-15 mil/yr at him.

If he was Rodney's height, he'd be Klay Thompson. But he's not Rodney's height...

If he hadn't gotten that steal we'd have lost and we'd still have Nurk.

    Damn it Curry!

Any way you look at it, it's Curry's fault.

For me Kanter would be last on that list, although Nurk's injury certainly changes everything in that evaluation.

Hood got off to a rocky start, but he's really acclimated, Stotts has learned how to use him, and he is a valuable piece. I call Hood the "Turner Stopper", because he makes Turner completely expendable.

For the difference in salary, and considering the caliber of player CJ would demand in trade, Curry makes CJ expendable as well.

My answer is clear some salary (Turner, Meyers) and keep Hood and Curry. I know everyone says Turner and Meyers are untradeable, but I believe anyone is tradeable. Throw in some sweeteners and get some salary off our cap.

If we can't trade Turner/Meyers, and we can only afford one, and if CJ isn't getting traded, I'd keep Hood at this point because he provides solid play off the bench at a position of need, and can start if needed. And he's the Turner Stopper ;)

I think Dame is a better player without CJ, and I think CJ is a better player without Dame.

They both need the ball in their hands.

I'v thought this for awhile as well. CJ is great because of how great a shooter her is but he doesn't want to pull a klay and just sit in the corner he actively wants the ball in his hands. I really want to see Jrue Holiday next to Dame but man Jrues contract is something else.
