Just finished watching House of Payne. I recommend not to watch this show, it's TERRIBLE. Barely even cracked a smile. Stay away unless you need to be put asleep.

Just by the commercials, the shot looked stupid. I kind of wanted to watch it to see if it was really as bad as I thought it would be and I guess it is.

I am surprised that anyone would watch this show. The commercials were basically like, "Haha this fat guy says annoying things." "I'm trying to turn you to Beyonce." "HAHAHAHAHAHAHA" What better way to capture an audience's imagination than jokes that don't make sense and aren't clever delivered by characters that are as static and boring as a block of concrete?

Am I the only one that thinks Tyler Perry is an egomaniac? Everything he does, he has his name in front of it. I saw and ad for this show in the theatre a couple months ago, looked like a typical livingroom sitcom that had been done a thousand times....not suprising that it's not funny....it's Tyler Perry for gods sake.

That show is gonna last 2 episodes. I'm not sure how the heck it got on TV..not to mention how much worthless promotion their giving it.Looks horrible.

It was ok. I enjoyed some parts. But I dont think It'll last long. One thing about it is that the main character is always pissed off.

The one benefit about his name being on everything he does is that I can avoid it at all costs.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Combs @ Jun 7 2007, 10:45 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>That show is gonna last 2 episodes. I could have told you that. The comercials were horrible. I seriously got pissed everytime they showed them, which was about every two seconds.

TBS' unprecedented 100-episode order for Tyler Perry's sitcom House of Payne is starting to look like a pretty shrewd investment. The second of two episodes in Wednesday's premiere was the most-watched series telecast in the cable network's history, drawing 5.8 million viewers. It was also the highest-rated sitcom ever aired on ad-supported cable. The show's debut pulled in 5.2 million people, making it No. 2 in basic-cable sitcom history. In an unusual arrangement, TBS committed to 100 episodes of Perry's show before it hit the air. :dunno:

I can think of hundreds of sitcoms that are 100x better than this that got canned in like ten episodes.

I'm not really a fan of Perry, but he has a vibrant underground following that grew from the south when he sizzled his plays through a circuit of small town churches and auditoriums. They still dig a live show in small towns where there's not much to do. Bootlegs of his plays burned through the hood and Oprah seems to like him too_Or maybe all those people that watched just loved to hate him that one time and the show will flop next week.Edit: I didn't watch the show and I probably never will.
