The Thunder are currently the 8th seed. If they keep losing they will stay in the 8th seed. So it's actually the exact opposite of what you just said.

Good. I will be honest. I don’t look st the standings. Never do. I know I haven’t tjis season so far. The season becomes such a blur for me. That’s why I love when people on here break down who we are rooting for each night.

You said this type of stuff about our schedule at the ASB. We killed it.

Minnesota is without Teague, Covington, Rose, and possibly Gibson. So they have Towns, Wiggins, and a bunch of fringe NBA players.

LA doesn't have LeBron, Ingram, Ball, and Kuzma. I doubt Rondo, Caruso, and McGee combine for 70 points against us.

Kings will be the toughest outside of the Denver games, but we should have C.J. back by then. They beat the Spurs, but the Spurs have been player very poorly lately. That games at home, and Blazers tend to play well in their season finales if they try to win.

I expect us to be 4-2, maybe 3-3. We have about the same chance of splitting the Denver series as we do of losing to one of those teams above us.

    OKC easiest schedule pre-break.
Yet their schedule post-break got tough as shit. And now they're losing games.
    Who would've thought.

you went thru all of that verbiage to arrive at "I expect...maybe 3-3" in response to me simply explaining why I thought that 5-1 might be overly optimistic. In other words, you agreed with me but just wanted to be disagreeable

The foul on KD was an excellent call.

    3 words:

    Freedom of movement.

    3 more words:

Point of Emphasis (if Lamar Hurd says point of Education one more time)

If you want to stop a player from moving to a place on the floor, you have to legally occupy a space in front of them preventing them from getting there. You may not use your arms or hands to achieve a legal guarding position. That is illegal contact.

Illegal contact that disrupts a players rhythm, balance, speed, or quickness is a foul and it was rightly called against Durant.

Curry should've gotten Tech for leaving the floor.

If you're referring to the GSW's whine and moan session when they lost to Minnesota. I legit thought the refs got those calls RIGHT. In my opinion, Curry should've got T'd up for pointing at and trying to show up the ref the whole down the court too. I was hoping you would chime in even if you disagree with me because I appreciate the perspective.

There are lots of things to consider when calling a technical foul.

I do believe Curry deserved one for leaving the floor. Much more of a violation than pointing and jeering at the ref.

Fair enough. So my dad was super strict with me about talking to refs so thats my perspective, but he was very much into hey they do they’re job, you do yours. You can ask questions but whining about it on the court in front of people, that was not going to happen.
So I understand that isnt how it works most places especially in the NBA. I guess to me though pointing at a ref, and jeering in his face like that, ultimate disrespect move that to me is way too far...

Hey @dviss1, while we're talking about refs I was interested in what you think about this:

Portland Basketball just implemented a new rule that ANY interaction with a referee after the final buzzer sounds is an automatic 1 game suspension. It doesn't matter what you are talking to them about even if it is something positive. I understand the rule in theory but personally I think it's complete bullshit that you can't have a friendly discussion about explaining a call or anything like that. The other problem is that I feel like it enables the refs (especially in gyms where there is only one court therefore no one to notice) to be lazy and not really care about the level they referee the game. There is a phone number you can call and leave a message on if you have a referee issue but no one ever responds to those. As a ref do you favor a no interaction policy or do you welcome the chance to explain yourself to someone complaining about you?

As someone who's been followed by parents after the game.
I'd say this is a good rule.
The only thing I'd say is I'm someone whos open to talking to respectful people. As well as explaining what, and why pending on the level the game was.
But for a mens league? Nah you got an issue go talk to the league.
As the league at least out in Mac gets in contact with the officials on any complaint.

    I do get paid

He should have gotten a tech for pointing and taunting the ref after his made 3. GS has been the benefit of some really memorable calls this year and the first time they perceive as if they're on the disadvantaged end, they throw a hissy fit. Ridiculous.

I find it hard to believe they would suspend you for that but you have to sign a waiver stating that you will not say a word to the refs after the game so I guess that literally means you can't say that.

I totally get if it's hostile but part of growing as a player to me is learning how you can be better or what you did wrong. I should be able to respectfully go up to a ref and ask him what I could've done differently in a situation to avoid a foul call, in my opinion.

I wonder if his brother can taunt refs and get away with it?

I got suspended a game back in the day because I went off on a ref after a game. I probably deserved the suspension but the ref literally stood on one baseline of a full court game and didn't move the entire game. So when the play was on the other side of the court he'd still be standing on the baseline of the opposite side. I asked him several times during the game if he was ever going to do his job or move and he basically said every time, "what are you going to do about it?" After the game I called him a lazy piece of shit among other things about needing to go to the gym to lose some weight so he could at least jog to half court and back once during the game.
