<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>?One possible destination for Ron Artest this summer? Houston, to be reunited with his former coach Rick Adelman.I'm told the Rockets have been quietly putting out feelers about Artest, and the price might be right. I hear it would cost the Rockets Bob Sura (he has only $1 million in salary protection next year), Kirk Snyder, Vasilis Spanoulis and this year's first-round draft pick. With Artest entering a player option year on his contract in the summer of 2008, it may be time to take the risk.</div>that could be so interesting, that would make Houston so much better I think. Depending how you play battier... if you can put Yao, Battier, Artest, Tmac, Alston on at the same time, that could be a very sick team.
If Artest could keep his attitude in line, we would be a sick team. Two defensive stoppers that can hit the jump shot. It'll definitely loosen the offensive load off Yao and TMac. And it would also be great if we could pick up Mike James from Minnesota also.
That's actually a pretty good deal. It would be great if they all agreed to that trade. Only person I'd think about is Kirk Snyder. He was pretty much our most athletic player last year (even though he din't play much) and could be useful in an Adleman coached team.Could you really have Ron at PF and be effective? I don't know much about him except he's a great defender and has some problems..
If we could get Artest, we'd def. be championship contenders and with two great defenders...damn...screw Rashard Lewis, bring in Artest! One main concern, is if Artest will be willing to accept his role as not the team leader or scorer and how he will get along in the locker room.
I think Artest may actually be worth getting if we can deal with his attitude. He may be the next step that we need to go the next step.
How 'bout we get Artest then trade Battier for Chris Wilcox, then acquire Mike James along the way.Mike JamesTMacRon ArtestChris WilcoxYao Ming

When he was put in games and was givin' the minutes, he really produced. Driving it in, getting to the lines etc. He's really energetic when he's on the court and I like that. He would be good for Adelman's style.
I think he would behave himself and make Houston a pretty good team. He really seemed to get along with Adelman so at least for a year or two he won't cause many troubles. I'm still not losing hope on a Nash-Artest-R.Wallace-Amare-Camby starting line-up with Bell off the bench.
This looks like a good trade; I'm sure Houston wouldn't miss the first rounder and Artest could bring some extra defense. As long as he acts right, but I think he won't have a problem accepting being the third offensive option.
Im sure this will once again start a fight between me a Dsoung, but Im convinced that no matter who Houston brings in, they will not get passed teh first round because of Yao. He is just not as good as advertised especially when it comes to playoff time
Ehhh....I am not so sure on this. He is an amazing defender, and CAN defend the PF position due to fantastic strength and size, but his offense and mentality is what worries me the most. He is not a great spotup shooter, doesn't score at a high %, and is constantly demanding to be the #1 or #2 scoring option. With Yao and T-Mac on the same team, the Rockets don't need another guy who wants to put up 15+ shots a night. He can be very valuable if he takes a backseat, learning that some nights he won't be taking more than 8-10 shots. He is a great defender who will fight hard and give the team more toughness and defense, yet an athletic upgrade from Howard/Hayes.Overall, he wouldn't be my first choice, and there is no way I'd give up someone like Battier for him. But like the Rashard Lewis deal, I wouldn't be opposed to it.
Artest would definately make them an even better defense. The question would be though what would you do with batter? He's too good to play on the bench. An interesting experiment could be to try Tmac as a pg(worked for magic didnt it?) but most likely he would have to be traded. Artest would help but they need players at pf and pg much more.

He's the player being shopped for all these guys the Rockets are trying to draw in, such as Rashard Lewis and Chris Wilcox. Battier doesn't fit in with what the Rockets are trying to do. He wasn't used in a way last season that would give the Rockets mass production out of him. He was very limited.

In Orlando they had Armstrong running the point for his 1st 3 years, then it was a mix of T-Mac/Lue in the final season. T-Mac has been the point the past 2 years for the Rockets. I don't like that idea as the Rockets would lose even more speed, which they are desperately trying to gain.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Battier will be dealt this off-season. And that is just on the offensive end. Defensively he is one of the best in the league. He is being mentioned so much because he is the 3rd best player on the Rockets and for us to get another all star player he will likely need to be dealt...NOT because we don't need him.

I changed the title, it was a little misleading and it got me for a second. But if the price for Artest is Bob Sura, Kirk Snyder, Vassilis Spanoulis, and the #27 pick... then that is a no-brainer for Houston. I doubt the price is that low though, honestly, no matter how much of an idiot the guy is.

Kirk, however, is a solid young player and the pick is quite valuable since this is a deep draft, but just those for Artest? Do it.
I don't think there is anyway Sacramento would do this deal.Sura is retired, so all the Kings would be getting is his expiring contract. Vassilis Spanoulis and the 27th pick will not be much at all. The only good piece is Snyder. Battier will most likely have to be involved in a trade to get Artest.

I was referring to Magic Johnson since tmac reminds me alot of Magic. But like I said it probably wouldnt happen. Battier will have to be moved I agree though.
Houston Chronicle<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Houston Rockets would like to add a power forward. Or maybe Ron Artest, who would give the Rockets the scoring they want from that position, but rebounding and defending a power forward would be a problem. And there's the baggage. The Rockets have tried to acquire Artest a time or two over the years, but he has gotten into even more trouble and that could keep Houston from trying again to acquire him.</div>Link
