Translation #2: "Stupid Wyc Grousbeck didn't help his trade value when he released a statement about how he is done with the team and now he removed his nameplate, therefore making the situation sounding worse than it really was."
lmao. No one wants him ?He was one of the top point guard prospects in America at one stage and he is now at no one wants him ???I say give him up if you ain't doing nothing with him and let him succeed like he will in a better team.

He has, on the other hand, proven that he can get into trouble with the law. And like CB said, his value has plummeted due to the fact that the Celtics basically said he would be gone. They would be better off keeping him if people are going to try to trade a can of beans for him. Most teams that really need a pg are more likely to try their hand in the draft for someone like Conley, Law, Crittendon (sp?) than to invest in a guy who has proven to get into trouble. Those that are looking for a backup pg probably would rather go to the FA market. He's got potential, but that means little if he ends up in jail.
However people are acting like this is a reoccurance ??Look at Ron Artest. He has always been one to get into trouble along with the likes of Rasheed Wallace and Stephon Jackson. Sure they haven't been in trouble to this decent but they are still not being treated how Telfair is being treated. Telfair is a fantastic player also. I'm going out on a limb to say he is in the same books as Deron Williams and CP3 if he can put in work and actually play some 48 minute basketball. The dude is lacking motivation, direction and advice which Boston is definitely not giving to him. Boston are sitting on him because they have Delonte and Rondo, they are making a huge mistake by not settling this young dude out and getting him to think straight. Boston is a rich franchise with a good history. It would be a shame for them to let someone as good as Telfair slip out of their hands. If they won't do anything about it then just trade him instead of wasting his time.

The difference between Telfair and those guys you mentioned is that Telfair has had multiple run-ins, and he's still a scrub. I'm not encouraging special treatment (I don't really think Jackson or Artest got too much, their teams have expressed problems with the players), but if you are a GM, you are probably thinking risk vs. reward. To me, there are just too many guys out there that can ball as well or better than Telfair. I don't think the kid is trash or anything, but who is going to trade anything worthwhile? Come up with a trade that makes sense.I agree with the Celtics thing as well. They are misusing him, but c'est la vie. I don't think he's going to be a Deron or CP3-type player. Maybe you know something I don't. I haven't seen too much of the kid, but my opinion of him isn't very high when I've had multiple people take his side. Then, you know, he got into trouble again. Surprise!

How are we misusing him? He was the starter for 2 or 3 months but he didn't perform. I watched him play every game this year and no way is he the player he was hyped up to be. Rajon Rondo is our PG for the future and performs better than Telfair in every way. Sebastian couldn't even hit shots this year and he can't finish layups. All he's good for is passing and not turning the ball over which Rondo does 10 times better than him anyway. So he really has nothing going for him. Telfair is a scrub and we don't need him. He's entering his 4th year and still hasn't lived up to expectations. Nobody wants him and it isn't surprising. It has nothing to do with his run ins with the law. I'm questioning whether I would even give up a 2nd rounder for him.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (playaofthegame @ Jun 10 2007, 08:19 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>How are we misusing him?</div> Doc went from playing him big minutes to completely benching him and taking him out of the rotation, therefore crushing his confidence and then spitting on it, kicking him while he's down. You have agreed with me about that more than once, and you've told me plenty of times that you do like Telfair. I'm not gonna sit here and tell you he's the next Chris Paul, like the other poster did, but as you all know... I also still have not completely given up on him. I'm not ready to call a 21 year old a complete bust. Also, to the person who compared Telfair's situation to Artest/Jackson.. come on. Telfair was caught with a gun twice, he's not a headcase. Some people make Bassy sound like some type of bad guy, when he's not. He has a gun, alright... look at where he's from. He feels like he needs one for protection, and while it's against the rules, it is understandable. But at the end of the day, Bassy loves the game, he not a bad guy, and he wouldn't hurt a fly.
