Why is it that if you are white and listen to hip hop, you are automatically considered a wigger. Or if you listen to metal/punk/hardcore etc you automatically are emo. Can't people just listen to the music they want to in peace, without being stereotyped? Me and my friend were talking discussing this...while high.
Nop, you can't.If you're white, listen to rock.If you're black, listen to hip hop.If you're latin, listen to reggaeton. That's just how it is.

I'm Black. All I do is listen to hip hop 24/7. I don't give a F*ck about stereotypes though. I do my thing and listen to good music.
Just be prepared up front with the stereotypes. Ultimately, the only way to end stereotypes is to combat them consciously. So taking a little narrow minded bigotry from time to time is the price of your freedom and leadership.

whatabout if you're a white guy that listens to jazz and alternative underground hip hop? From what I understand about the general term "wigger", that doesn't describe me except for loosely fitting my music tastes.

Im whitemy fav genre is Hip Hop but I listen to a lot of old school rock tooI am not a wigger because IMO a wigger is one with the big ol hat turned sideways. He has his pants at his crack and he walks with a limp.
I listen to mainly underground and alternative hip hop, some classic and alternative rock, and reggae. I am the least from a wigger or any other music stereotype.
But doesn't it seem odd that someone might say that to or about you in the first place? It seems like another negative way to keep you in line when you have an interest in anything not pink, tan, or pale. People need labels to group folks together and identify some sub-division. Folks swim in this stuff because it makes them feel stronger and secure when they can shake their head about you not keeping up with the school.Would you rather be a wigger or one of them?
I dont know what your talking about haha, never a day in my life have I been in a car(regardless if they're prep, skater, black etc.) where they didnt have Three 6 Mafia or Ludacris or something. I dont know, but just about everybody listens to rap...we call people wiggers because they dress black.

I dont care if white people listen to hip-hop but when they start dressing all gangster...Plus, I hate the people who only listen to the mainstream crap rap, like Yung Joc, 50 Cent etc. and think they are the sh*t.Rock is my favorite genre, but I listen to alot of the more hardcore rap that actually takes talent to make (Ghostface Killah, Rakim etc.)
