This kinda got lost in the shuffle here last night, but there's some stuff to unpack. -seems like a foregone conclusion that Dame is getting offered and will accept the supermax -Dame is anxious as hell to get redemption for last year
You have quickly become one of my favorite posters, thanks for keeping things so basketball! Also, awesome interview, love listening to Dame talk.
I think I put more trust in Lillard then any past Blazer. That’s a trust on the court, off the court, as a leader, as a Portlander and as a mensch. I had similar trust in Terry Porter back in the day but Lillard is so much better it’s otherworldly. I put a ton of trust in Roy but his body... Lillard is a perfect centerpiece to have as a Blazer .
Dame is a unicorn in today’s NBA. All in on winning where he is, all in on making his teammates better, and willing to let the chips fall where they may after he gives it his all. We had darn sure better appreciate this guy because I’ve never seen his like in the history of this franchise. Greatest Blazer ever, beyond a doubt.
Unicorn = unique, different, almost on a mythical level D.O.L.L.A. = Different On Levels the Lord Allows. Conclusion: Yes, Dame is a unicorn.
Dame has vision and is grounded, not swayed by flavor of the month squawk etc. Practically every other team out there would give a lot up for Dame or a guy with his foresight. I am proud that he is a Blazer. Kyrie? Russ? Harden?? No thanks. edit One more thing: Dame in 2032!
