For the first time since David Stern formulated his plan for global domination and compromised the health of his best players, a team is standing up to him and telling him to stick it. Chris Bosh plans on playing for Team USA, but if he has any recurrence of the plantar fascia soreness -- which the All-NBA second-teamer said bothered him all season -- the Raptors are going to pull the plug for him. "The last time I checked, we're paying the salaries," coach Sam Mitchell said, to the muted cheers of every NBA coach and GM.source http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/6126

I kindof hope he doesn't play for Team USA, I wanna see Bosh and the Raptors come out to a blazing start for the 07-08 season!!On a side note I would wanna see Bargnani play for Italy because basically it would be the Il Mago show every game.

How would that be going against his nation? Which comes first? Your NBA team or an outside the NBA optional USA team? He wants to rest and get better for his NBA team. Is there anything in that that makes him going against his country?

First off...hes not going against Stern, or the NBA or his nation. Hes just simply looking out whats best for him. Hes the commissioner and all, but playing for the US or not really has nothing to do with Stern, but more as Colangelo and his staff. And this isnt new at all, alotve players have always been like this in some type of way. Mike Miller said he wasnt going to make a choice to be on the team unless the Grizzlies backed him...and he eventually joined the team. The raptors are doing nothing special here...

I can kinda see how it's going against Stern, but not really. Several other players have done the same thing, but I've never seen a headline like that. The only thing Stern loses from this is a small amount of positive publicity for the NBA. It's not a huge deal.

Bosh must not be like though.. :no3:
