On the Fan590, Peter Vescey is reporting a trade Colangelo is discussing with AtlantaTor Sends:Jose CalderonJoey GrahamFuture 1stATL Sends:Josh ChildressSolomon Jones11th PickIt is hard to see Jose leave but what do you guys think? Josh could be our future 2-guard and the 11th pick can easily be Thad Young our future 3?

Josh Smith isn't even in the rumor; it's Josh Childress. If Atlanta is picking Conley at 3 for sure, then I'd have no problem with this trade.

I mean, he's a young pg too, right? Maybe I just don't know enough about the Hawks or this trade. I dunno.

Hawks are also being mentioned in a trade involving their lotto pick and Pau Gasol..makes sense to team up both Jose and Pau.

I dont like this trade.. Trading Childress is awesome but then we get ANOTHER SG/SF type guy in Graham. We need the 11 pick unless we can fill a huge hole with it, or get a good vet.. I'd rather not trade it away for Jose Calderon and Joey Graham. Please tell me how this would benefit the Hawks in any way?

It really only gives them a solid passer at point guard, but I'd still rather have Conley over Calderon. He racks up the assists, but how can he help them win? Maybe I haven't seen something about Calderon that people like.

He is so polished its not even funny. He will knock down the jumper from anywhere on the field (52%) he will blow past his defender, as he gets numerous easy layups a game, he is an EXCELLENT passer, solid defense man, and he is lightning quick off the dribble and in the open court. He is basically a less skilled version of Tony Parker. I even think that if he got the playing time, he would be almost as good as Tony Parker. They both shoot the same percentage already. I gauarantee if you looked 5 years down the road, Mike Conley Jr will not be a good PG as Calderon is. He is just so solid. He just compliments TJ Ford so well. I would be so sad if he left, he was very very consistent this season. Caldron would be starting for many NBA teams today.

EXCELLENT defender, high percentage shooter, and a about average center. Colangelo wont make this trade. I dont even trust Peter Vescey, this is just ridiculous. I would like to see him at the 3, but I would like for us to go for a better 3 as the market is wide open this summer. Im not a fan of this trade, as Jose was our main leader of the bench when Ford was down and did a more than excellent job. However, I do want to see Graham out of here, he is absolutely useless. Not a smart player at all.

I would stick with the picks, but another option would be to pick up Calderon and use the other pick on someone else.

Uh...T.J. Ford is injured so often, it would be completely idiotic to trade his backup

Yeah, Telfair didn't pan out but they at least ended up with one decent point guard with potential. But, they could very well just forgo that and take Brandan Wright, but I don't agree with the lockjam that is building up over there.

We need a backup point gaurd. I'd get pissed off if Calderon leaves. That would just be stupid. He had such a great season. Why trade him? I'd forget about this trade, Calderon is going to be even better next season.

I would do that...Joey is just getting on my nerves....we would have a good draft pick if we did it as well...If we would get Josh, we may as well ship off Juan as well though.I like Josh Childress. He can shoot (even though his shot is butt ugly), and he is a hard nosed guard who will drive it too...We would really miss Jose though, so I really don't know about it...

Well I don't really care if Joey is gone, but I think we should keep Jose. He had a breakout season and he'll get better and better. I don't think it will be a smart move.
