Personally, I'm more of a fan of not editing posts so that everyone can see a poster's true colors and make their own judgements on the person. For example, when someone makes a racist tweet, while it is really bad to do so, I'm glad I now know that person is racist.
You did read that and it was a sincere offering that was taken in jest and never responded to. So... who is the issue here?
Yeah, that argument has been made too. I tried to find some middle ground on that one as well (hiding offending material in spoiler tags rather than deleting), but no dice. This is the only thing that is acceptable, and only if we're absolutely perfect in the application.
Really? Sigh... Don't think we don't appreciate what all the mods do. But it rubs me the wrong way when I get chastised for something I quit doing 5 months ago (skirting the insult rule by saying "Your post is") and having my post immediate censored and admonished.
This is the games he plays sly as he likes to instigate and then play the victim. Their little clique is quit good at segregating this forum as dviss comes in and stirs this shit back up and then bailey comes back in whining once again. This forum can be like groundhog day. I would like to be able to post in this forum without the constant harassment from the few and not have every word scrutinized and people making issues out of it. I see it happening by the same people continuously. They know the games they play.
I don't even remember the "clown" post, but I'm sorry that my response to it was offensive. I'll try to do better.
OK--and I guess I was wrong again. Guess I did say I want people to shut up about the constant endless kvetching about the impossible standard of perfect moderating. Unreasonable to expect, I know. Sorry--I'm frustrated.
I don't believe that anyone is defending Cup. Only explaining actions taken or not taken. Cup gets into a lot of arguments with different people. It's very annoying to members and staff and especially during this exact point in the season it's sucking resources away from other areas of the forum that would benefit more members. As the person ultimately makes the final decision on whether to ban someone I will say that when I reach out to Cup in private we have some very respectful and constructive conversations. He also talks about the Blazers and is a fan of the team. Nurklicious was different, I reached out to him multiple times via private message and he ignored them. I also had to close game threads to get him to stop arguing. Closing of threads that confused and frustrated members including yourself. When I re-opened those threads he would just fire the arguments back up again. He would not listen to or communicate with staff. He seemed like he only wanted to argue with people. I counted over 150 posts directly attributed to him and people he was arguing with in one game thread alone.
Do you guys really want the mods to watch you carefully like children and censor your behavior? I think @SlyPokerDog and @PtldPlatypus are trying their best to keep the forum a place for everyone to have a conversation with the least amount of interference. Maybe I am out of line here, but some of you guys should be able to converse without slights and insults.
All I'm saying is apply the rule evenly. I hate when my post gets edited personally. And yes I was upset about cup not receiving the same discipline. Frankly, I'd love it if we let posts stand for what they are.
Woah, buddy. This ignore shit is gonna take some getting used to. I have to assume you're not talking to yourself.... LOL. I like it though! Who's next?!?!
All I can say is if you are in multiple arguments in multiple threads over multiple days with multiple people then it's not them, it's you. This is the most fun we've had as Blazer fans in the playoffs for years. I really don't get all the arguing.
This. Cup brought my name into this and I've been defending myself this entire thread. Cup creates this and we get told to shut up for complaining about it...
